That scene in "Malice" (not a plot give-away) where Baldwin and Pullman are at the bar.
Baldwin: "What if they gave you a million dollars for...for just the first joint off your pinkie finger. Would you do it?"
Pullman (considering): "No. Would you?"
Baldwin (pretending to consider, then lying): "No." Then they both laugh at the very idea.
Buster, if you offered me half that sum, I'd give you the whole damn finger!

From: A little bit here and a little bit there.
highs: His theater work, strong supporting parts in glengarry glen ross & malice. His performance in miami blues.
Not getting stuck in those silly clancy sequels.
lows: Not listening to the moral of the story to "the marrying man", that is, Bad things will happen when you marry kim bassinger.

Do you remember the "It's a great time to invest!" commercial parody? The SNL commercial parodies have almost always been the best part of the show, and I think this one is definitely one of the top 5. My wife and I just roll around laughing everytime we see Alec Baldwin offering investment advice while plummeting out the window.

My favorite Alec Baldwin films:
The Hunt for Red October
Heaven's Prisoners
Malice
The Edge (with Anthony Hopkins): a very pleasant surprise - I thought - when I first caught it in theaters (only checked it out because I had some spare time on my hands, glad I did).

Career High: His episode of The Simpsons. I just love the jokes regarding Hollywood in this episode.
"And this time it's personal! What? It is personal! He's got our UNDERPANTS!"
"Alec, Alec. Regarding that so-called silent propulsion system in The Hunt for Red October. I printed off a list of technical errors I think you might like to discuss."
"Gee, I'd really like to but I'm not really wearing the right shoes"
Almost every line in this episode is friggin' hilarious.

As much as I despise the man's politics, he is a good actor.

First of all, Baldwin did not turn down the role of Jack Ryan for future Clancy adaptations. They could not agree on terms ($$), so the producers opted to go with Harrison Ford.

Now hold up a minute. I'm not a big Clancy fan, but I do know that his novels are not in chronological order. For example, the Jack Ryan in "Clear and Present Danger" was older and more experienced (played by Harrison Ford), while the Jack Ryan in the most recent "The Sum of All Fears" was new to the fold and wet-behind-ear (as Mr. Myagi would say) - played by Ben Affleck. Now, Alec Baldwin wouldn't have been suited to play in "Clear and Present Danger" because he's too young (or he was then). And Baldwin certainly couldn't have played Ryan in "Sum" because he's (now) too old.
So it really is a moot point about Alec Baldwin continuing on in the Clancy novels.

I guess. Frankly, if I let politics bother me too much I'd never get to watch anything.

Homer:*gasp* Billy Baldwin!
Alec: I'm ALEC Baldwin!
Whenever he hosts SNL, you can count on a least one really good performance. Flipping through, I caught him doing a startlingly accurate Charles Nelson Reilly for an Inside the Actor's Studio skit.

BTW: Clancy thought that Ford was too old to play Ryan in the subsequent film (Patriot Games).
