I think that the trailer to Rope is brilliant.

Even though the trailer is a part of the story, the movie can still stand on its own. The only speaking part that the murder victim has is in the trailer, in footage that isn't in the movie (the movie opens with his murder). If you see the movie before the trailer, the trailer has the feeling of watching a deleted scene. Anyway, here it is:

I liked the trailer for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake that basically just featured sound effects and screaming on a totally blank screen. Talk about letting people's minds run away with them, that was an amazing trailer for an amazing movie.

I was wondering why the first 2-3 pages of this thread had no links to YouTube videos, and then I realized that most of it was posted back before YouTube was ever around.

my personal fave is the first full trailer for The Assasination of Jesse James. Theceover is great, the score is brilliant, the cinematography is a work of art, and Casey Affleck sends shivers down your spine.

300 is another good one that got a lot of people pumped. And good call on the Superman Returns trailer, Brandos voice in it just takes you back to watching the original as a child.

I work in a computer/electronics store and love setting up rolling 1080p trailers on a playlist, and it's a good way to relax with customers while serving them. I gotta say, the trailers for 300 and transformers got the most attention. When i go back to work in a few weeks i'm anticipating the new fast and the furious trailer will go down a treat, that's if the movie isn't already out by then.

When I was a kid/teen, It's certain that when I saw the trailers for Sly and Arnold flicks, I was like, "oh my god! I have to see that!"

Haven't heard anybody mention this and I don't think it's the "BEST" trailer, but it's definitely the one that caused me to run home after seeing a movie and search to find out more about it.

CLOVERFIELD

That teaser in front of Transformers where they had the balls to not give us a title, that just had me going insane.

I loved both Miami Vice trailers, but it sucks Universal kept them off the dvd.

I will say Watchmen right now. I've watched it about 50 times on Xbox Live. I will say Unbreakable as well. Incredible trailer but the movie sucked.
