The simple matter is they already written her character out of the series in the second when he picked Michelle over Shannon.
with normal characters this would be a problem... thankfully, window dressing characters dont always have to follow the same main-character rules. At any rate, Im sure it'd be possible for atleast some kind of Sherminator/Nadia comedy in there somewhere. How would it work? I dunno, but then again, Im not an author of screenplays either!! I mean, why was Kevin even in this movie? he certainly didnt NEED to be and his character doesnt advance or resolve any issues he has during the film... and yet they stuck him in there.... so why not nadia?

Let's acknowledge the fact that Chris was actually on London's West End in Kenneth ("You Can Count on Me") Lonengan play, "This is Our Youth" and gave a commendable performance and fine transition from screen to stage.

I would've liked Chris Kelien in the movie. He was one of the 5 guys in the first 2. Not having him back is a little disapointing, same with Shannon. But I'll still see AP3, and I bet it's funny.

If anyone needed to go it would be Kevin. This character just annoys the **** out of me in the first two movies. It was absolutely great in American Wedding when they told him to shut up to that "to the next step" or whatever that lame line he says is.

I saw that play twice, once with Anna Paquin/Hayden Christiansen/Jake Gylenhaal and once with Klein playing the Gylenhaal role, and I have seen TV presenters on a Saturday morning Kids TV show giving more assured performances...

that was hilarious. he wasn't funny in AP 1 or 2... he was just cheesy. so when they rebuffed him in American Wedding, it was damn funny.

I actually found Kevin's role in AP2 entertaining.. I mean who hasn't been in that situation before? I know I have at least half a dozen times so it's easy to relate. Oz on the other hand was a waste of screen time, though the phone sex scenes were pretty funny.

Oz should've been there. The others not being there are fine.

It seemed to me that Adam Herz acknowledged that certain characters weren't returning, and did not write said characters back in. However, it seems to me that Oz was written in, then hurriedly dropped, and what was necessary was then combined with Stifler's character.

I agree with most of what's been said - There was really no reason for Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), Vicky (Tara Reid), or Jessica (Natasha Lyonne) to be in the third movie. Kevin and Vicky are broken up and they got closure in AP2, Jessica was just Vicky's friend, not the group's, and Nadia didn't even need to be in AP2 (Plus, like has been said, Jim picked Michelle over her). The Shermanator (Chris Owen)... its too bad he wasn't worked in.

So, I think the only one that SHOULD have been in this one is Oz (Chris Klein)... does anyone have any official word on if he chose not to be in it, the studio chose not to have him return, or he wasn't written into it from the beginning?

I agree. I think he was put in the script and dropped. Since Kevin was so underused I was thinking that there was supposed to be a Kevin and Oz subplot and since Oz wasn't in it they just dropped the whole thing.

I think this is 100% on the mark. They should have at least said that Oz was in the congo working on his doctorate thesis, or singing with the choir in Chino or something.

I disagree with that one point. It's because of Nidia in part 2 that Jim and Michelle fall for each other. Plus my favorite line in the movie wouldnt exist. When Michelle says something like "and that goes for you sticking it in my ass" or something like that in front of Nidia

I would of been nice if all of them came back. The third movie was good, but a let down to the other 2.

It seems pretty simpe to me - if you brought Oz back, you would have to bring the chick (Mena) back because they were the only other "couple" in the series - and the "most lovey dovey" of the couple.

Did anyone actually see how drugged up Tara looked in AP2? God she looked like ass. I am glad they didn't bring her back at all.

In case you didn't already hate Chris Klein, from IMDB:

Movie stars Katie Holmes and Chris Klein are starting 2004 in style after getting engaged over the Christmas break. The Phone Booth actress and American Pie funnyman have been dating for four years, but have yet not named the date for their nuptials. The loved-up pair are now looking for a movie project, so they can work together. Holmes will next be seen in the comedy-romance First Daughter, while Klein's Sundance film The United States of Leland is schedule for release later this year.

So.... where's the part that's supposed to make me hate him?

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Yeah, let's all gang up on him and kick his ass for marrying Katie Holmes.

Huh?

And what happened to Bunny Lebowski at the end of the movie?

Nothing. She returned from shopping.
