I have seen every movie this year except for like 5, so... lol. Where the heck would I start. Why don't I just mention the great, the very good, and the really bad...

1) AOTC, easily the best of the year (and my favorite film ever, which is obvious by the fact that I've seen it 44 times in theaters -- and counting).
2) The Count of Monte Cristo (in any other year, this would be #1; I saw it three times in theaters).
3) Minority Report
4) Spider-Man
5) Changing Lanes
6) Road to Perdition
7) Blade II
8) The Rookie

All of those films deserve four stars. Those are 2002 releases, and 2001 releases obviously don't count. Nobody should list films that came out last year, i.e. Black Hawk Down, which was four stars, but that's a 2001 film, NOT this year's movie.

The worst several movies of this year:

1) The Sweetest Thing
2) Crossroads
3) Jason X
4) The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya STUPIDHOOD (I refuse to spell it right)

These four movies absolutely deserve 0 stars for being among the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Of course, Jason X was actually pretty darn funny because it was so, SO horrible that it actually went past bad and to being pretty darn funny. Nonetheless, a film that has the worst acting I've ever seen in a movie along with the worst dialogue ever and a horrible plot easily earns 0 stars. Plain and simple The Sweetest Thing is the grossest movie I've ever seen. I hope I never see one worse.

I'm a critic, so that's why I've seen all of this (JLBMOVIES.COM, though it has not been updated in 10 weeks, even though I have seen everything since and reviewed it, just have taken some time off -- it'll relaunch soon, like two weeks max).

Also really bad films this year: Super Troopers, Frailty (sorry this movie just plain sucked, really a lousy message for a lousy movie), Hey Arnold, Scooby Doo (how could anyone with any degree of intelligence rank this above Spider-Man, Star Wars, and The Count of Monte Cristo?!?! Are you on weed?! LOL), and probably a lot else I do not even want to think of.

I missed these movies this year, so far, but I'll see them very soon if possible (like when they are on DVD): Slackers, Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist, Birthday Girl, Powerpuff Girls, and Juwanna Mann. I've seen everything else, except Stuart Little 2, which I'll get to seeing very soon.

I have been to the movies exactly 127 times this year, 44 Star Wars, 3 Count of Monte Cristo, 2 Resident Evil, 2 Spider-Man. Everything else adds up to 127...

Seen some good movies this summer with friends I believe this is all...

I'm convinced that "Scooby Doo" is one of a new breed of filmmaking (think of it as a sort of new-wave absurdist comedy) that has yet to be widely recognized for what it is, and is unfortunately dismissed as sloppy by those with a less-than-attuned sense of humor. Also included in my list of vastly under-rated contemporary surreal comedies are "Wet Hot American Summer" (****), "Pootie Tang" (***1/2) and "Kung Pow! Enter the Fist" (***). If this sub-genre continues on the track its on, then hopefully some day soon every elitist who's accused me of being on weed will bow down to my superior foresight
