"Run its course"? But I wanna add to my list!

11. So, like, um...if homosexuality is caused by a single gene, shouldn't said gene weed itself out of the population real quick? Or was Darwin completely wrong?

12. Sticking with the subject: the word "homophobic" is the most ridiculous PC concoction in contemporary language. Just because someone doesn't toe the party line, you feel the need to diagnose him with a "phobia"? Please ditch the amateur psychoanalysis, save yourself a syllable, and use the term "anti-gay."

13. Agree with them or not, black conservatives (or libertarians) have got to be among the most courageous groups in America. It is an act of total conformity to be a Jesse Jackson; it is an act of strong-willed individualism to be a Clarence Thomas.

14. Sticking with the subject: the phrase "Uncle Tom" is the second most ridiculous PC concoction in contemporary language. Is anything more racist than the idea that blacks all need to think alike?

15. The Democratic Party's commitment to "diversity" is utterly meaningless until they quit the practice of running nothing but straight white males for the 2 most powerful offices in the land (Ferraro doesn't count; they knew they were gonna lose that election). How's about they practice a little in-house "affirmative action" and nominate Maxine Waters for VP? It's the least they could do.

It ain't run its course yet:

-Sports suck and are boring. A certain percentage of the male population only like sports because they think that, as a man, they are supposed to.

-all religions should be abolished. There is no God, Allah, whatever. Get over it. Religion has caused far more problems than it ever helped.

-I don't need to have children to make my more fulfilled. Kids will seriously impact the selfish lifestyle I've grown accostomed too.
(uh, I hope my wife doesn't read this)

-if people keep getting free music over the net, there eventually will be no music industry. Do you think music companies are just making albums to entertain the world? No they are a business and are trying to make MONEY. No money, no business. Check out what rampant piracy has done to the local music industries of countries with lax copyright laws (eg China). The same applies to the film industry in the near future.

-Kirsten Dunst IS hot dammit!

Anyone asks to be called by a nickname (J Lo, P Diddy) is annoying.
There is no reason why Bjork shouldn't be able to wear a swan dress if she wants to (without tons of criticism).
I find Britany Spears' hip bones disturbing.
I can't take Hally Berry seriously after her crying fit at the oscars (but I guess I didn't take her that seriously anyway).
Punch Drunk Love was the worst movie I've ever seen (and I sat thorugh Dumb and Dumber).

Punctuation serves an important purpose in making a statement. Periods, question marks, commas, etc. are not "them uppity buttons" on the keyboard.

Okay, I get it. The writing on The Simpsons has taken a nose dive in past years. I don't care. It is still appointment TV.

I am still relatively on the fence regarding the death penalty. However, I certainly believe that it must be used, at the very least, in cases of thread-crapping.

Let's be honest here. There are three Star Wars movies. They are not called Episode IV, V, and VI. They are called "Star Wars", The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return of the Jedi." I have no obligation to justify my belief that without Han Solo and Chewbacca, there is no Star Wars movie. And no, I do not need to read such-and-such book to understand the so called "Expanded Universe." I don't care. Nothing happened with Luke, Han, and Leia after the final film. The credits rolled...it's over.

While I'm at it, Attack of the Clones was crap. It was a terrible movie in and of itself, and it was a terrible faux addition to the line-up. It was not "as good as Empire" or "better than Return of the Jedi." It was marginally better than the POS first prequel. I've tried to force myself to believe otherwise, but I cannot.

I will continue to get my coffee at gas stations instead of coffee houses. I will continue to enjoy it.

The only edible onions are fried or perhaps grilled.

If a bee is near me, I will flail my arms and do the old bob-and-weave. That is not a statement of one's lack of manhood. Their primal defense is to sting. Ours is to not get stung.

The best "oh bfrank" smilie is actually: . And just because the other was chosen as an addition to the board, none are obligated to use it excessively. Those who do must be punished harshly.

Beer doesn't really taste good. If one "aquires the taste," one has actually only learned to withstand the flavor in order to obtain the spoils of drunkeness.

There are all too many prolific posters on this forum who should learn the art of lurking.

Make your point intelligently if possible. As an example, there are those of us who read political threads, and we have a pretty good idea of whether or not you don't like George W. Bush. Therefore, by inserting your "Bush is a warmonger," or "Bush is a moron" statements with no surrounding points to be made immediately drops the intelligence level of the thread approximately three-fold. The same holds true for "liberals," "conservatives," Bill Clinton, etc.

No purpose is served by telling me why I shouldn't like a certain food. Yeah, people spit into food at fast food places. Yeah, certain meals are not made from the highest quality animal parts. If you are concerned with my health, don't be. If I kick off tomorrow, I'm not expecting flowers. If your true purpose is to turn people away from meat-products, then say so. It is intellectually dishonest to disguise your true agenda. And it makes you an a-hole. If you don't want people killing milk cows, say so. Don't tell me that milk causes health problems in order to try to affect the killing of those cows. You don't care if I grow a goiter the size of Topeka, you just want Elsie to die of old-age.

Edit: There is nothing wrong with editing a thread for spelling errors or clarity.
That was damn good. -golf clap-

But you're dead wrong about the beer. Real beer kicks ass.

Only if it is only one gene and if it confers no other benefits. Various cancers have been traced back to being caused by a multitude of genes. In fact, most "traits" are caused by the interaction of gene's. Also-look at sickle cell anemia-they should have died out a long time ago, right? Well, if they have both gene's, they do tend to have problems. However, it turns out that by having only one copy of the gene, they are afforded some protection from malaria, a much more common health threat.

Most things are not cut and dried.

Some of the posters here are stuck up and I'de like to kick their arse in real life after reading some of their stuff

High profile black people bitch too much and think they are represntative of all blacks when in reality most blacks hate them.
Rap doesn't suck ALL music does
People who rag on stuff that wasn't intended for their demographic are stupid
White people really can't dance
The Constitution is old and needs an update
Political Parties don't care about Real people
The lotto is keeping poor people poor
Black people are more to blame for our current state than the MAN
Elvis was not a good singer and would be a pop singer in today's market.
Nsync is not high art but I like their songs
Blacks who vote Democratic just because are dumb
If I put 20's on my car it doesn't mean I'm ghetto or a drug dealer. It means I bought a car and I'll do what the hell I want to with it.
Good cops don't get any press

Wow that felt really good

The Matrix sucks

Smokers suck, and smoking should be outlawed.

Clinton was a pretty good president who's only major flaw was he couldn’t keep it in his pants - just like MOST men. And when he got caught he did what every other man on the planet would do: lie like a rug about it. Getting a blow job and covering it up isnt a crime.

Emperor Bush the 2nd's only agenda is getting vengeance for his daddy - and serving the rich. He has no interest in the common man.

All music after about 1991 sucks. With a couple of exceptions ALL Rap sucks.

Most television sucked these days - since about 1995. In particular: the Simpsons really sucks.

We need to have a freeze on having children - overpopulation is killing the planet. Mandatory breeding licenses for all, plus classes on "How not to be a dumbass parent".

September 11th is WAY overstated in it's importance. Get over it people.

All cops suck. That’s right *ALL* cops. Some just suck less than others.

The Matrix still sucks

Celebrities and athletes make exactly the amount of money they're worth at the time they sign the contract. If you think they aren't worth that much, don't watch their shows or go to their games.

NCAA players in revenue-generating sports should receive a stipend or at least a campus job at a set rate of compensation.

Unions create an adversarial relationship with employers that far exceeds a level that would create a healthy bargaining atmosphere.

The world would be a lot better if people would live their own lives instead of legislating consentual behavior.

The world would be a lot better if people would learn to shut the hell up occassionally and listen.

Ooooh, nice thread idea.

- "Professional sports" as a whole is taken way too seriously, and most professional athletes shouldn't be making a fraction of what they earn

- Jim Carrey doesn't get nearly the amount of respect as an actor he deserves (forgetting his massive popularity regardless)

- The Matrix is extremely overrated sci-fi movie (thanks guy above me for reminding me ). People look for deep meaning where there is none, there are plot holes abound, and plot-wise it's not nearly as original as some people claim it is. Even the fighting scenes, while very stylish, are kind of dull after the first time - just too phony and not convincing enough for me.

- If cigarette smokers want us non-smokers to stop complaining, they can keep their damn smoke to themselves in the privacy of their own home or car. The only reason it's such an acceptable thing to do in public places is because the disgusting habit has so deeply permeated our society. Its popularity is no excuse. It's disgusting and it affects other people.

- Metroid Prime for the Gamecube is an overrated, unoriginal, mechanically dull game. If it weren't for the words 'Metroid' and 'Nintendo' slapped on the cover and the nostalgia involved with the series, the game wouldn't have a fraction the following it has now and the praise it gets.

- Metal Gear Solid 2, aside from its amazing production values, is a crappy game.

- Another videogame point - The Japanese game development community has seriously lost its touch over the past several years when it comes to making original, innovative, fresh titles that push the industry forward. There are the exceptions, but their specialty lies in taking an old and outdated game premise/series and slapping on a new coat of paint (the RPG genre being a prime example), and try to make up for that with super-high quality art direction.

- The Simpsons, as incredibly funny and ground-breaking as it once was, is not still "one of the best shows on television". Everything that made The Simpsons a great show and got it to where it is today has been completely abandoned by the writers, and it's not even the same show anymore. I don't care if it has "The Simpsons" as the title, it has become a very mediocre show that relies on overused sight gags and infantile humor. It has become a Family Guy-lite.

- Boston Public is a stupid show that relies on shock value and predicable yet idiotic plot twists to keep viewers watching. I hate that show.

- Boston Market, on the other hand, rocks. It doesn't give me the runs, and I think their food is very, very tasty.

- College isn't the fun-filled, happy-go-lucky, best-time-of-your-life place it's made out to be by people who tell you so before you get to college.

- The best part of life by far is childhood. No responsibilities, no worries, it's incredibly easy to have fun by doing anything and making new friends, and especially earlier on in childhood you're experiencing everything for the first time.

- Democrats do more to hurt minorities/poor/etc. than they do to help them. They are doctors keeping their patients sick to stay in business.

- People who buy SUVs and don't need them suck, but no more or no less than people who buy other gas-hungry vehicles that SUV-haters don't seem to feel the need to complain about.

- I don't have nearly as much money as I should have.

- Many rappers have a lot of talent (and many don't), but not talent that lies within the realm of 'musicality'. IOW, they are generally not musicians.

- The Stones were merely a *good* band back in the day, and their music has aged terribly. Get off the stage you old farts.

- In general, there's more racism amongst black people these days than there is amongst whites.

- This may not exactly be an unpopular opinion, but affirmative action needs to be abolished entirely. We need to tackle the issue AA is trying to address through education, not reverse racism. Kudos to Bush for standing out on this issue against AA in the Michigan situation.

- Owning a firearm isn't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be, and in some ways should be encouraged. There need to be much stricter gun laws and enforcement, though, as well as better/more education on them - especially for children.

- Bush is a nice, easy-going, friendly guy but not very bright. In my opinion, and from what I've heard, in actuality it's the other way around. He's in fact a very bright, very smart man, but very tempermental and not that approachable.

- Abortions for all, miniature american flags for none!

- While I'm very respectful of other people's right to worship the god they want and partake in any religion, organized religion itself is a joke. The notion that there is an "afterlife" is laughable and exists only out of man's age-old fear of your self-consciousness ceasing to exist for all of eternity once you die (something that most religions exploit), and you don't need to be a member of a gigantic cult to embody the same principles, ethics and morals that organized religions do. Not to say that it's a bad thing -- it's certainly done a world of good for many, many people, and creates wonderful communities. But in this era of humanity, the same should and can be done through a means that doesn't rely on ancient and outdated tales and spiritual beliefs that religions can exploit and shape people's lives with. The bumper sticker on the car in front of me the other week was right: organized religions are just cults with lots more people, and ones I might add that have somehow managed to sustain hundreds or thousands of years.
That's just my opinion on ORs, though. Again, I fully respect people who are members of a religion, and it's not hard for me to see the draws it has. It just doesn't draw me.

- People who say "too many people go to college these days" are insane.

Oh forgot something: Quit bitching about Star Wars. Either watch the movie or don't and shut the hell up!

And shut the hell up about Jar-Jar. Its been FOUR years already. Move on with your life.

And quit slamming Lucas. It's getting old - and you're probably just jealous of his success.

And to be blunt, Phantom Menace and Clones were DAMN fine movies. Quit being so bitter and cynical and watch the films through the eyes of a child. They're just as good as the old trilogy.
