Yeah, but I want to keep it low key, so it is a "sleeper". I'm not gonna advertise my stuff. It also has NOS, but you won't see that sticker anywhere. I'm not sure how I am going to hide the Folgers (tm) coffee can for the exhaust though.

He is not working retail, not training to be an "Other" mod, and hopefully not becoming a fluffer (!).

His new career is that of an airport security screener.

TOPBUNK is so much better off than so many of us here. We simply don't understand. Maybe one of these days we'll see a late night infomercial with TOPBUNK selling tapes, videos, and seminars on how to amass a fortune by never leaving your parents' house!

Those Big Wheels are sweet. If I get one, the sky would be the limit in regards to how many girls I can bang on the top bunk!

No DUH! Not only would the sweet Wheels assist in the picking up of girls, but you could then bribe your brother to leave the bedroom by letting him borrow your sweet ride for 5 minutes! Two birds with one stone!

ohh ok i was under the impression he wanted the same engine that comes with the integra gs-r. I didn't know if he went with an integra he would still need to buy something.

The "sleeper" idea is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard btw.

The B18C1 does come with the GS-R. My point was that buying a Civic and the B18C1 engine would be cheaper than buying the GS-R. Maybe...depending on the condition of the Civic chassis, I guess.

Stupid or not, that's what people do. Don't shoot the messenger!

LX98Civic - did you get the handgun suitable for an ankle holster as you were looking for a while back? And more importantly, did you get one that doesn't catch on the ladder when you're climbing up to your top bunk?

That's the same boat I'm in, and for us it is a good idea to rent as we have no choice. All things equal, ownership is better. It's just we have something unequal (that is, ability to afford it or not).
Same here. I don't have enough down payment for a house since in NYC, it's friggin expensive as hell. Plus, I don't save much because of my spending habits in things I like. I'll say this business I'm getting into with a few friends is gonna determine if I will a house or not in the next year or so.

From the first post I ever saw of LX, i felt i was a sort of shaggy-tale. come in and post a thread to stir up the crowd then disappear, a week later come in again with another thread to make people talk and then go away again. never having the subjects meet.

Have you addressed the childern issue yet? Why not invest into something for the daughter? that would make the most sense. A father sleeping on the bunk bed.. come on, any decent seperated dad would have the common sense to just sleep on the living room couch. As for girlfriend, I wont even touch on that.

Over all, I would mark this up to just another case of a troll stirring up a heated thread for attention. Only this time with a bowl of rice and a top bunk.

It's funny how you wouldn't do a sacrafice of giving your folks some rent money, yet you were thinking of asking them for a loan to get your car and avoid bank fee's.

then...

Not to mention using a credit card under your mom's name..

I wonder why your dad doesn't tell you Coast Guard or hit the street if you are trying to cop out of a rent fee at that age and not adding to the mix other then being there taking space.

(Might be a little mature to open at work)
Then again, I have to wonder is this girlfriend the same one you were wondering if you could get in trouble for post ametuer pictures of? Guess thats why she doesn't mind the bunk beds

and here is the ultimate laugh of this all, heres a quote from this thread: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=225015

I guess i will stick up for LX98

but trade in for a 1998 lx is about $7000 and if he sells to a private party he can get $8000 according to edmunds.com

a 5th generation hatch back will run at most $4000 from a private party and without even looking hard i found a place that would swap that the engine for around $5000 I am sure 98LX has done his homework and can find a better deal. After he sells his other civic ,which he said he would do before he gets his house, it will simply be a $1000 upgrade to his car not that big a deal if you ask me.

the issue isn't the car, the issue is him not willing to pay rent for staying at home and sleeping in a bunk to afford a car when he could be living on his own gaining experience in life and growing.

Personally, were I staying home, I would do so in order to save up every cent I had to make sure my child had a better life.

Yea i personally don't like his timing ether (his timing for purchasing the car that is), i just think in the end it won't make that big of a difference if he gets the car or not...

I agree with the above that you should wait till your in your house before you get the car, its only putting that on hold for a month or two.
