all of the Hammer titles uncut and in their correct ratio, preferably with special features

Blade 05-13-02 02:18 PM

Please, do not make title request in this thread!
Mr. Blythe's list of titles are already slated for DVD, this thread is a poll on which ones deserve special features, not to see what you want on DVD from Parmount.

FYI, I split out any post that only talked about titles not on the list into this thread. Please post in that thread to make Parmount DVD requests.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Vampyr 05-13-02 02:22 PM

In my opinion these four should receive special features, especially Wings. I have placed my choices in order of preference.

Wings (1927)

Murder on the Orient Express

Darling Lili

Day of the Locust

BTW: Thanks for asking for our input:thumbsup:

Thank you for asking us to help!

MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
FOUL PLAY
CAPT. KRONOS AND ALL THE HAMMERS
THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED

Please make these titles available in wonderful editions.

EagleBill 05-13-02 03:45 PM

Hammer definitely

Kronos:
Commentary Track by Caroline Munro would be great!

Frankenstein & the Monster From Hell:
Commentary Track by Shane Briant

The Man Who Could Cheat Death:
Commentary Track by Christopher Lee

Good Xfers, correct aspect ratios & trailers for all would be appreciated as well.

Have a look at Universals release of Hammer's the Mummy to see what not to do:)

Thanks for asking!

Ginwen 05-13-02 05:16 PM

If

I'd buy "If" with a good DVD of it.

Wings is probably the most deserving--seems like there is a way to do that movie that it would sell pretty well for a silent movie.

DSweet 05-13-02 06:39 PM

Murder On the Orient Express is one of my favorite movies so naturally I'd enjoy seeing this film loaded with additional features. Foul Play and Wings would be my second and third choice.

DemonBS 05-13-02 06:58 PM

When DVDs first came out, I was upset that my favorite studio was putting out the worst DVDs....

Paramount has finally been producing some excellent Special Edition DVDs and now, with your coming to DVD Talk for consumer feedback, I have to wholeheartedly praise what I see as a real investment in both product and consumer.

That being said....

The Hammer films
Foul Play
Looking For Mr. Goodbar

tdilia 05-13-02 08:02 PM

If...... & Murder on the Orient Express without a doubt

Adrian L 05-13-02 08:38 PM

IF and CAPTAIN KRONOS

Dimension X 05-13-02 09:57 PM

This thread is really bringing the lurkers out of the shadows (over sixty "New Member" posts so far). I might as well join in the mass delurking and have my vote counted too.

I've got to go with Captain Kronos and the other Hammer films. However, Foul Play and the Jerry Lewis movies would be great if they had commentaries by the stars.

cwilli 05-13-02 10:08 PM

I'd love to see "The Geisha Boy" get special treatment. I'm a Jerry Lewis fan.

Merin 05-13-02 10:50 PM

In order of preference...

Foul Play
Murder on the Orient Express
Wings
If

That's pretty much about it. Thanks for asking. :)

RaMMaR 05-14-02 01:58 AM

IF you can get Jerry Lewis to do the commentaries, then please release S.E.s of The Geisha Boy, The Ladies Man, etc. (tell 'em that a portion of proceeds would benefit MDA or just lure the guy w/ lollipops - ANYTHING!)
When these are released, will there be a box sets available?
Thanks, MB!

SLeopold 05-14-02 05:06 AM

I would love to see Wings finally receive a legitimate release! This is the first picture to win the best picture Oscar, and a cinematic classic. I can't believe it hasn't been released yet. This is a definite must-own, if not for its historical value, then for the fact that it's a great film. Plus it has Clara Bow in it, one of my favorite silent film stars. I'd love to see a well-done special edition, but would settle for just seeing it released.

jarofclay73 05-14-02 05:54 AM

Wings.

baraka 05-14-02 06:35 AM

Murder on the Orient Express

Barrie Maxwell 05-14-02 07:20 AM

In order

Wings - by far

then

If
Murder on the Orient Express

Barrie

Scarface (1983) was released by: Universal Pictures, not Paramount.

sirshagg 05-14-02 09:11 AM

All I ask is that they are anamorphic and 5.1.

I rarely purchase anything unless it meets these two requirements.

castle70 05-14-02 10:27 AM

Captain Kronos and The HAMMERS

WITH THE PARAMOUNT HAMMERS, I WOULD PERSONALLY BE VERY SATISFIED WITH A COMLETELY UNCUT PRINT, WITH BITS IN EURO/BRITISH VERSION LEFT OFF OF U.S. RELEASE, RESTORED...
THIS WOULD TAKE PRIORITY OVER EXTRAS....
(FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL, CAPTAIN KRONOS)

Mr. Blythe,

Thanks again for the opportunity for us DVDTalkers to give you and Paramount some valuable feedback on future DVD releases. My vote goes to Murder On The Orient Express for additional special features. :)
