Gee, I purposely chose that subject text so that others wouldn't have the urge to read it. I guess being in the otter farm it was bound to happen anyways.

Congrats. Now you two can combine your DVD collections into one massive one! I guess you'll have to get rid of the dupes though.

yashan, I am embarrassed to admit it here, but before Tom and I got together I didn't own a DVD player...and I still don't have any DVDs! "Our" collection is "his" collection!

Hey Sracer. Take the TV and run. Maybe if you hold out she will bribe you with a nice DTS 6.1 receiver.

yeah...maker her get you this one

on another note, here's an excerpt from a customer review

"My (ex-)wife stole the receiver when she threw me out of the house after catching me...that's another story. Since then, I've had many months to research a replacement (receiver and wife). "

THX Ultra2 Certified

i guess this means the neighbors are gonna hate you, assuming you live in a house. They're gonna kill you if you live in an apartment

Nice one...

So... you were actually standing right behind her?

Did she turn around RIGHT when she read that line, or did she read on to the proposal before turning around?

That/this is by far the coolest thing I have seen/read/heard as far as proposals go in a while...

CONGRATS!!!

Wish you the best of luck...

I am getting married in 73 days myself... can't wait... although our story ain't as interesting...

Thanks chrisfelice and congratulations to you too!

Yes, I was actually standing behind her. Earlier in the day I had composed the text of the post, then when I saw her sit down to her PC to do stuff, I brought my ThinkPad (with wireless LAN card) into the same room, sat down in a chair a few feet away.

I posted the text and then cut-n-pasted the URL for the thread into AIM and sent her an IM telling her to "look at this"....

From where I was sitting, I could see the screen of her PC and when I spotted that section of the post, I quietly stood up, took the ring out of my pocket, and was standing behind her.... the timing was perfect...the answer was perfect.

She waited to read the whole proposal before turning around.

Yes...I read the whole thing before I turned around....it took a while because I was teary-eyed! But I didn't want to miss a word.
