I am dead serious. It is important to me if you think there is some reason something is not right. I mean that, and that is why I asked you to give me some reason. As far as Soup...well, I am just yanking on his chain.
But I really wanted to understand your point of view, and I don't see it as 3 mods against you, though your position may not garner a lot of popular support in general. However, popular support does not make something right or wrong.
Again, if there is some reason you think a thread should be closed, I would like to know. I might not agree. I can tell you we get a lot of requests to close threads everyday, and we do not in many of those cases, but it helps to understand why you think it should be closed.

I fail to see how being a moderator comes in here. None of us remotely leaned on our badges when we were discussing this.
Also, I'm still waiting for someone to defend the merits of his post.

Bushdog, are you referring to me when asking for someone to give merit to this now-banned guy's posts? If so, I don't think I hinted that they DID have merit. My original comment was to serve only as an observation -- that it's sad that this guy is gone, yet plenty of people are still ragging on him about his posts.
And yes, I did delete my "inflammatory" response, though I would hardly call it that. I posted something right before it, and felt that expanding on that previous post was more important.

I can think of one rather looming reason: it encourages him to come back. This doesn't seem like the type of person to sit idly by and watch people mock a post. He seemed to be emphatic about his beliefs and might creep around to defending them here soon.
It just seems unfair, although, extremely funny.. I'd be sad if this thread were closed, but I think this is one obvious reason it might be closed.
