Avoid CD Universe at all costs.

Read the other sections of this site to see who are/are not reliable (Online Store Forum etc.) Most online retailers are reliable, but many will not ship to the UK

Buy locally if you can to save on shipping costs which are usually ridiculously high.

Give Amazon UK a go first.

After that try shops such as Express, Video Now, DVDempire, Itchee and CD Universe.

There are heaps of online shops and as Foxy is suggesting, they all have their ups and downs.

Also check out the Online Store Forum first and look for specials etc before buying. In doing this you can save yourself quite a bit of money.

Amazon.com are, as far as I know, the only US based dvd seller that ships to the UK via Europe...therefore bypassing the dreaded customs. I have had several 'large' orders from them and have never been bothered by customs.

...also, for multi disc sets (X-Files, Planet of the Apes etc), amazon will only charge shipping for 1 item, whereas express will charge for the actual number of discs...bastards!

...as you can see, I quite like amazon.
