Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 Uncut Blu-Ray set: May 12!

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B...pf_rd_i=489986

Thank goodness in Japan their Blu-rays are NTSC and in Region A so a multi-region Blu-Ray player is not necessary to experience these Uncut films in Hi-def. Since "The Whole Bloody Affair" will probably never be released, this set will be the best alternative. Even though it's hella pricey, it's giving me a reason to finally embrace blu-ray and buy a player when this comes out.

Why would they be the U.S. versions if they were never released in Japan in the first place? Plus Universal is distributing the Blu Rays in Japan and they only have rights to the Uncut versions. Of course I'll still wait for the reviews anyways but it'll be pretty hard to screw up these releases.

It seems the US runtime of 111 mins is indicated on the cover instead of the uncut runtime of 112-113 mins.

The run time for the uncut film is 111mins, 39 seconds long so I wouldn't worry about the listed run time. Again, I'm sure it is the uncut version. It was released theatrically in Japan so I doubt Universal would go out of its way to license the U.S. version from Miramax and release it on blu-ray.

CDJapan has it listed as being the US Version:

Re: Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 Uncut Blu-Ray set: May 12!

Of course if these are the uncut versions this would mean that "The Whole Bloody Affair" will unofficially be released on blu-ray. Because TWBA is merely vol. 1 and 2 combined with an intermission in the middle. The intermission comes after the bride tells Sofie (and the audience) "they'll all soon be as dead as O-Ren" right after this the screen goes black for a few seconds. There's your intermission.

Insert Vol. 2 skip to Chapter 2. There you have it.

Re: Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 Uncut Blu-Ray set: May 12!

^ That is not entirely true.
There are a number of small edits in the big fight scene in the House of Blue Leaves, and the fact that that entire scene is in black-and-white in the US version, but color in the uncut version. There is also the deleted "you killed my teacher" scene, and finally, I have read that the original transition from part 1 to part 2 was different before it was cut into two parts.
Spoiler:
You didn't find out her daughter was still alive until the end.

It's cheaper at Amazon.co.jp ($54.00) for the twin pack. I don't understand why Yesasia is actually charging way more for it and listing the single releases at $54.00. It's also way cheaper than the separate Jpn boxsets that I purchased years ago. If this is the Jpn version I'm definetely buying it.

Really? I don't agree with that statement unfortunately. I'd be down for this set, but not at that price. $40 range would be nice though.

Yea, $85 movie sets are a thing of the past for me. I own the uncut Japanese DVD set, which are fine for the time being.

I have the Japanese cut of Vol. 1 and I know the differences between that and the U.S. cut. But what is the difference between the Japanese and U.S. cuts of Vol. 2?

According to the dvdcompare site it's:

# R2 LE Japan- Universal Pictures - No cuts. This is an extended version. There is only one difference between the Asian and Western versions of the film, and this is an extra scene 45 sec at the Mexican brothel, which begins at 81:43 min - NTSC.

It should also be noted that the extra footage in Vol. 2 is all inconsequential establishing shots and scenery. There's no extra dialogue, or anything with the characters.

Now that the release date has come and gone can anyone confirm if Vol.1 is the Japanese Uncut version?

Josh Z had mentioned in an earlier post that CDJapan had these listed as the U.S Versions.

Over at Blu-Ray Forums, the only information I could find was a poster who also said the releases were the U.S Theatrical:
