region free blu ray player question

region free blu ray player question

hi ive got a a Panasonic DMP 80 with a mod chip and its region free for all bLU RAYS.and ive only had since August and it works fine with some Blu ray but i noticed today if i put on any disney film move it wont play them full stop and message says cause its region A.the flms were as listed.ive tried other USA REGION A movies and they work fine.

28 weeks later

Terminator sky net edition

Pirates of the Caribbean at worlds end or dead man chest

Wall E

Ratatouille

is it true the fim upware can can stop some of THE Blu rays from playing ?
or is it the Blu ray it self as im told sometimes they have have codes on the disc etc to stop u playing on them on muliti region BLu ray player.if any one can help please send me reply here.

should i contact the shop ask to for new machince or would i have the same problems its not even 1 year old and they told me it would play all Blu rays and they sell dvd players and plasma tvs etc and lots more

Those you listed are hard-coded Region-A discs that will not play on Region B or C machines. Are you sure your player is really region-free?

Which discs did you play were fine?

yea 100 percent region free here?s a few region a that work

the dark night

i am legend

true romance

the warriors

bravehart

but found today by shop if disc is locked i push button a at remote turn mahine on it works they said the mod chip will by pass any codes on latest disc that dont play will they say said disney do it alot.

i whish blu ray was like hd dvd as all hd dvds where region free never locked.

Those 3 discs you mentioned above are region-free, so it doesnt matter if you play them on a Region A or B machine.

Although "Braveheart" from Paramount IS region coded for Region A, and that is one you can play on your "Region B" machine, huh?

I have a BD80 and did the mod to make it region free (soldered a kit inside the player). I think mooncat didn't know the player can't detect automatically the region, you have to press a key to select the region before starting the player.

yea thats right shop told me today but i never got info in box how to change it lol thank god my blu rays now work.
