Denmark's FIGHTER on DVD

The Danish DVD is out. Can somebody confirm for sure that this DVD does not have English subtitles?

Any news of an English-subtitled dvd of FIGHTER?

Final cost at axelmusic.dk (including shipping) is 50 bucks. That was my most expensive dvd purchase since buying the Japanese AVALON dvd.

I got the DVD today and watched this film. This is one very good touching film. FIGHTER is like a much better version of Michelle Rodriguez' GIRLFIGHT, BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM (only without the comedy), and also a hundred times better than Hilary Swank's THE NEXT KARATE KID. It was nice to see Xian Gao in a movie since CROUTCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, whom also did the fight choreography in the film. I won't be surprised if this film gets released in the states since it has such international appeal. The martial arts scenes were staged very nicely. If you don't mind slo-mo, then this martial arts film is for you. It's more of a drama film with appropriate fight scenes which are connected to the story. Natasha Arthy is a very good director. I would like to see her direct a Hollywood action movie and not fail like the awful Karyn Kusama whom had her chance to direct AEON FLUX after doing GIRLFIGHT. I'm still looking out for a new great female action movie director. Katherine Bigelow still holds that title.

The DVD is of excellent video and audio quality. The anamorphic video is very crisp, and the DD 5.1/DTS Danish is great with its pumping soundtrack. The only extras are the trailer and a non-english subtitled, yet interesting, making-of-the-film which runs about 30 minutes. The English subtitles are flawless.

MOVIE: 8.5
DVD VIDEO: 9
DVD AUDIO: 9
EXTRAS: 2

BUMP

FIGHTER is airing here in the U.S. on Sundance Channel tonight (10:35pm). Also, airing later in the month for those who might miss it tonight.

I've actually had the UK DVD in my Amazon UK cart for a long while but still haven't picked it up for purchase (missed out when it was price-dropped to 4.98 GBP not too long ago).

Re: Denmark's FIGHTER on DVD

thanks for reminding me, FLIXTIME...I wanted to say that the NTSC Region 1 DVD will be for sale on October 13...It's anamorphic and only Dolby Digital 5.1 Danish. The NTSC Region 1 DVD is dropping the awesome Danish DTS audio track.
