i know that there are 2 versions by edko, one that has a crappy pal to ntsc transfer, and one that is fixed. is this the "fixed version"? i'd love to see this with dts sound and a correct uncut version of the movie

the korean r3 is the best version IMHO, full bitrate dits plus very nice picture.

The HK Edko disc is also 1509 kb/s DTS. The Korean and HK discs have different video transfers. The Korean version has better compression, but I tend to favor the colors and contrast on the Edko disc.
Rypro, yes that disc you linked to should be the right one. As far as I know, the original release with the terrible PAL-to-NTSC transfer should be long out of print.
There is of course also the domestic Blu-ray, which is notoriously crappy by current Blu-ray standards but nonetheless does still look a little better than any of the existing DVD editions. It is, however, just the US cut of the film.
The uncut version was released on Blu-ray in France, but unfortunately that disc is locked to Region B. Video quality is more-or-less the same as the American Blu-ray.

The English subtitle translation is the same on all of the versions of this movie I own, except that the Korean copies are mistakenly missing half a sentence in the first scene due to an authoring error. Dialogue in that scene is a litle confusing as a result, but otherwise it's fine.
