I have yet to experience that flaw or be annoyed at that ... yet. (looking away, will be annoyed when I actually check it out)

The ad didn't mention extras...but it did say the disc streeted yesterday while Amazon says the 31st. Either way, Amazon dropped their price to $19.99 CAD, if anyone is interested.

Fellow DVDTalk member eXcentris said he would be getting the disc the 24th. Hopefully he confirms/lists the specs for the Seville release.

Whoops, you're right. I guess I got Rue Morgue and Fangoria mixed up.

I was glad to see that Amazon dropped the price on this. I ordered it at the higher price, but it has been adjusted on my order. I'll have to wait an extra week for it, though, since I ordered it with the Chasing Amy Blu-ray.

Love the UK cover art.

Hopefully the UK Blu-Ray is Region Free in case the Weinsteins botch the U.S release.

I was hoping the UK BD of Eden Lake, also put out by Optimum, was region-free, but it wasn't. I'm not holding my breath that they have a change of heart on Martyrs.

Has anyone found specs for the Canadian release of Martyrs now that it is out today?

I would dig that. Hopefully a region-free BD of Martyrs comes out eventually.

Optimum is usually region-locked.

Mine shipped over the weekend. I'll report as soon as it comes in.

Awesome! The faster the film shows up in my collection, the better.

I PM'ed eXcentris, since he had mentioned in another thread he was picking it up. Haven't heard back from him yet.

Canadian dvd:
5.1 French Audio, 2.0 French Audio
English Subtitles
1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
Extras: 3 French Trailers...that's it, not a thing more

Image, sound, and subtitles seem fine, just disappointed that the hour and a half documentary isn't on here.

Thanks for the specs!

So will the R1 Weinstein release contain the (full) documentary?

The US release is listed to have a 55 minute documentary, which may be a truncated version of the one on the French release.

I think Anchor Bay will have a table again this year at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors in Los Angeles.

I'll have to bug them about the length of the documentary. Hopefully they'll confirm that it's the full version.

Still figuring out if I want to plop down dough for the Canadian release.

Watched this the other day. Sheesh, it really is grim! I thought it was all just going to be another hyped-up gorefest, and for the first half was convinced that was exactly the case. But the latter stages really did get to me.

Don't think I'll ever watch it again, but stranger things have happened.

The Weinstein Company/Genius Products is releasing it in the US, not AB.

Yikes. I watched this last night and it was pretty disturbing. I thought the ending was kinda uplifting in a weird way though.

If the final shot was of a dog getting stabbed, I think that would have been uplifting compared to the rest of the movie...lol

so what's the deal, which version should I purchase, the US, Canadian, or the Optimum UK disc/bluray?

dullboy can possibly chime in since he owns the Canadian Version, but it seems like the Canadian Version and the U.S versions are similar (in terms of extras)

The Optimum Releases of both the DVD and Blu-Ray are not released yet (5/25/09)
