Just got an e-mail from them. Too bad, I often used them in the past because their packages always seemed to get thru Canadian customs undetected.
Current orders will be fulfilled and cust service will be available until the end of February.

My only experiences with them have been bad ones... poor customer service, etc. I haven't ordered from them for awhile, so--in my mind anyway--the market is self-correcting.

Yeah, I received that e-mail today also. I've used them from time-to-time mostly for single item purchases and consider myself to be a satisfied customer. Actually, I just received an order from them about a week ago. I will miss them.
With CD-WOW being the trainwreck that they currently are, and now the loss of bensonsworld, things are starting to get tight as far as options for R2 UK purchases.

I've only used Sendit once but they seem to be comparable to BensonsWorld for single item purchases.Originally Posted by flixtime

After a miserable experience with them two years ago, I've ignored them completely. Apparently you can only piss away your customers for so long before it catches up with you.

I ordered a lot from them around 5-6 years ago. I never had any complaints. They had free shipping which then changed to a nominal amount and then went up again. I haven't ordered from them in years but they were very good at one time.

I've never used sendit but I guess I'll add them into my to-check list now. I have used blahdvd on occasion. But bensonsworld did come through with the best deal every so often...my most recent purchase was the BFI release "A Throw of Dice" and bensonsworld had the best price at 13.34 GBP shipped.Originally Posted by cine

The worlds economy will be the cause of a lot more of this.
Ive used BENSONs a couple times with no complaints.
It seems that CDWOW may become another DVDSOON fiasco-but this time never return;
Ive used Amazon.uk a lot since I live in the states, but the .fr and .de have horrible postage rates.

I never had any problems with Bensons over the years.
Mostly been using Amazon.uk - remove VAT - shipping a bit steep
and Sendit - don't remove VAT - shipping reasonable.
I did wonder why Bensons were not stocking any hi-def titles though.
Now I know why.

It is disappointing news to hear of Bensons's demise. Despite the quick-triggered recriminations from some posters because they could not exploit one MOC pricing mistake, this company was no CD-WOW. In my experience, orders were filled quickly and sent well-packaged. Only once did I have a damaged DVD, and they replaced it without any hassles. On smaller orders, and always with BFI, they were cheaper than Amazon.uk. Benson's will be missed.
