souvenir is right. I placed the order on the UK site, instead of US site.

RIP CDWOW!
I was using a site called DVDSCOUT.NET to check price changes - sadly there's very very few bargains on CDWOW now. I've not ordered from them in about 6-7mths (used to grab one or two things every week for a few years). Sadly - everything changes .... and there's fewer and fewer sites to improve prices and competition.

Good God, my love/hate relationship with CDWOW continues!

When I noticed that they finally had some Blu-rays on the site, I took the dive and ordered Zulu yesterday. How could I not for just over $20?

I just checked my order on the site and it is already listed as shipped.

EDIT:

I just checked my email and they sent me a shipping confirmation email as well.

If this goes well, I'll likely order The Ipcress File from them as well, and could once again start using CDWOW for imports.

Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in...

Well I ordered Black Narcissus BD on Oct 26 and Seventh Seal BD on Nov 3 and neither have shipped. I'm not impressed.

My copy of the Zulu BR showed up today. The shipping took just a tiny bit longer than it used to, but it showed up in perfect condition at a great price. I can't really complain about this at all.

Still nothing on my order. I emailed to complain about the long time it was taking and they basically replied that the items would ship when they shipped. Worst CDWOW experience ever. Now how long to wait before demanding a refund?

Today arrived Last House on the Left 3-Disc Ultimate Edition DIGIPAK - for merely £0.99

Clearly a mistake since it was the single disc that was pictured for the low price. However, I don´t have any complaints about getting the Ultimate Edition for this insane cheap price.

Had I saw that before it was corrected I would've ordered it.

Not sure it has been corrected since it´s stil only £1.99 but it´s the single disc which is pictured. I´m sure it´s the wherehouse employee who made the mistake.

That happens once in a while when there are multiple versions of a given film.

Hmm, that is tempting but I doubt I'll be as lucky.

Agreed, and there's a big difference between $2 and $20

Re: CDWOW: 2008 - Discounts, Vouchers, Bargains, & Discussion

For what it's worth, I've noticed some decent prices on a few BDs at CDWow recently and took the dive once again. They had Sophie Scholl for $16.99 for a good while, and I had been tempted to order it. Then one day last week I noticed they had a $2 off everything on the site sale, oddly enough in celebration of Bono's birthday, so I finally took the dive on Sophie Scholl for $14.99.

I ordered it on May 11th, and it showed up today, May 17th. I'm shocked it showed up so quickly. I've never had an order from them show up this fast.

I never had a problem dealing with them, but their prices just got insane after they had the legal trouble.

I still get their coupons, but every time I check to see if there's something worthwhile, I find the crazy pricing still in effect.

I never get the coupons.

I'd love to start getting those.

Brent L, when you log-in over at CD-WOW and go to MY ACCOUNT, are you signed up to receive e-mails from CD-WOW. If you scroll to the bottom of your MY ACCOUNT section, you should see some Check Boxes under E-mail Preferences. If indeed you are already signed up then, well, I suppose I can't offer any more insight.

As to CD-WOW, and coming from someone like me who was very displeased with them when things started to go south, I do find them quite useful nowadays. Primarily, I use them most often for purchasing Hong Kong DVDs. In that respect they are very convenient and offer attractive pricing (especially when combined with a sale/voucher). The shipping times can be somewhat variable but, generally speaking, it is acceptable enough as far as I'm concerned. I do seem to receive a higher degree of loose/floater discs because of the shipping style at CD-WOW versus other e-tailers, yet in the instances where the DVD did experience a few light scratches, the playability was in no way harmed.

I've also used CD-WOW on occasion for the purchase of R4 Australian DVDs and also R3 Korean DVDs, and found their prices competitive. Their selection of Korean DVDs though is minimal and entirely inconsistent.

The CLUB WOW feature which roughly equates to Buy 10, Get 1 Free is also an attractive bonus...though having to make that many purchases within a two-month timeframe is a little bit of a tight fit.

Little Big Soldier (Blu-ray; HK version) $17.99.
Bodyguards And Assassins (Blu-ray;LE;HK version) $38.99
An even better deal if you have a voucher.

I've used Chaos DVD a couple of times for R4 discs and their prices were quite good, plus free shipping.

You got the details for either of those two releases?

NoirFan, actually it was a prior post of yours not too long back that first brought Chaos to my attention. I bookmarked it after reading that post from you. Thanks for bringing it to my attention (both then and again now).

Though I haven't yet made a purchase from Chaos, I do check things out over there from time-to-time. I'm keeping Chaos under consideration for my next Australian order (LUCKY COUNTRY, LAST RIDE, BALIBO, STORAGE (or maybe I'll just get the UK version), SAMSON AND DELILAH (2009), and BEAUTIFUL (2009)).

I just found Chaos through a link at DVDBeaver and I like their prices. I placed an order for La Luna, 3 Belmondo boxsets and a couple of other DVDs....I'm just waiting to receive the shipment now.

This tread is about CDWOW not Chaos, who I find extremely expensive.

If there's still time, use the code CHAOSPACK for 10% off your order. I paid under $100 shipped for the 9-film Douglas Sirk boxset using that code.
