The discount link I'm referring to is that same old one that has been around for a long while now and takes $2 (or more, depending on the DVD) off the price. On top of that you can also the $2 DVDTALK voucher found in the coupon section here at this site. Geoff first promoted it on the homepage about a month back.

Saw this tonight, it's a bit derivative but in many ways is, in my book, the end-all for this particular genre. It's amazing.

Finally watched it. One word: Intense. Storywise, this could have been any straight to video monster flick, but this was so well done. I don't usually get scared at monster flicks, but this one had some genuine scares. Is this coming out in American theaters? I think it would do pretty well here.

The movie I saw is about this group of women who go on a trip into a cave somewhere in the US after one of the women faces an unfortunate tragedy in her life. The women all had British accents, or maybe Austrialian. I assume it's the same movie, and I really don't see what the hype is about. It wasn't a bad movie, it just wasn't anything different than most blockbuster/popcorn movie's IMO. I could have been my expectations going in mind you, but I wasn't shocked or frightened at all. It was also predicatable, even for a movie of this genre. Now I should mention I've never really been a huge "horror buff", so maybe some of my issues are expected in horror films. I wasn't a big fan of Haute Tension either, so again it might just be me. At the end of the day I wasn't upset I watched it more than I hoped for more. Seeing as how this is buzzing I won't have a problem selling on Ebay anyhow, so it's all fine over here.

Sometimes the question is also, "How did you watch the movie?". I screened it for my friends on my 105" screen (projection), with the DTS audio cranked way up. Horror movies tend to work better if the audio is top notch. I remember when I saw "The Grudge" (remake) in theaters and it was an amazing experience. The crowd was so into it and it made it more terrifying. Then I watched it again at my friends house on his TV and it made me wonder, "Why in the world did I find this scary?". Purely subjective, and environmental. I can understand where you're coming from. To each his own.
