For the Stuart Little R1 disc, did you try setting the player to R1(press and hold CLEAR for 5 seconds, screen goes blank, press "1", press play, player is now set to R1 and should play R1 discs with RCE)? FWIW, I didn't have any problems playing this movie on my N996.

I did try setting the player to R1 but the disc still wouldn't play.

Malata here aswell. No reaction from my DVD Player. It's a new copy protection thing called Sony ArcCos.

This is ridiculous. I paid for this film.

Ah well. Man made it and can unmake it. I look forward to a patch for the Malata to circumvent this.

Wouldn't a copy protection program usually mean that the player refused to play the disc at all? Oh well, if you're right about Arccos, it might mean that one will have to be wary of UK releases via Sony. I hope this isn't the beginning of something nasty...

I checked disc 2 last night. I was able to do everything as normal, except the Q&A at the NFT, which did not play, returning to the menu each time.

Looks like the US edition could offer identical content, so I'll probably pass My R2 on and get a US copy.

I have the Stuart Little disc - well the original release, not the "Deluxe." I will check this on my machine tonight.

FWIW, the US artwork is around, but I'm a bit wary, as nowhere has it been mentioned as being a two-disc set. I'd hate to have everything crammed onto one disc. Hopefully it will turn out to have two discs here too.

FWIW, the listing on DVDPlanet shows "Disk Count: 1". Not that that's necessarily any kind of confirmation...

DVDSoon too shows the number of discs as being 1.

Ouch. If I remember correctly, the movie disc for layer cake was a DVD9 meaning that they will have to compress it much more to fit it and the extras on a single disc.

Exact same "stick" happened to me during the credits on the Philips 727, but was solved the same way. Luckily, the rest of it, including all extras I watched, played just fine. Was very glad to finally see it and enjoyed it -- loved the use of music. I knew it was my kind of movie when The Cult's song kicked in in the beginning!

I've enjoyed Daniel Craig in the various movies I've seen him in, and he can be a bit of a chameleon. However, I don't think he's right for Bond (as his name has recently been mentioned). While he may fit the image presented in the novels (I don't know, as I haven't read them), he doesn't quite fit the mold the movies have presented. He's on the shorter side, a little too icy, and sorry -- has bad teeth. (I was hoping he was wearing fake teeth in "The Mother", but apparently, not.) I think he's a great actor with real presence, though.
