The Mission: great movie, crappy soundtrack!

just watched it today on my day off...it was one of those titles that i'd bought a loooooong time ago, but never got a chance to check it out.

well, it was a great ride...the main five characters each had their own quirks, really cool gunfight sequences, just "cool" overall.

but man oh man, what a LOUSY "soundtrack" (if you wanna call it that)...i'm talking about a lame pop-synth background music that came on OVER AND OVER AND OVER...i will probably hear that crap tonight in my sleep!

wish i could go back and remaster it myself and get rid of that NOISE!

they really should consider a part 2...it was that good (IMHO).

Wasn't exactly Ennio Morricone's best soundtrack but it was ok.
I mean come on, it was 1985.....

EDIT: I guess i was thinking about the wrong movie.....
should've read into it a little bit more.....

I was about to make the same mistake!

Maybe we can redub the more recent "The Mission" with Morricone's fantabulous music...

Same here. I was going to reply earlier, but the synthesizer comment baffled me. Morricone has never written a bad score as far as i'm concerned.

This is a great movie, but it definitely needs to be re-issued, because worse than the soundtrack is the transfer of the current disc. Anyone know anything about a possible new release?
