Does HMV charge when you place your order, or when it ships like Amazon?

Yeah they only charge when they ship.

VAT tax free for non UK and pretty good shipping rates too... i prefer to use them over Amazon.co.uk..

WOW you did?! good on ya..

I hope its actually half decent, that's why i was hoping someone would be able to find a pic of it.

It's pretty pricey so i'll assume it'll be worth it!!

Wish we could see a pic of this...or any idea of how "limited" it really is. For all we know, it's as limited at the Saving Private Ryan LE.

I'm definately in the minority on this one but, I really dug this flick. Yes, there were a couple of hiccups but on the whole I was thoroughly entertained. I already ordered the HK R3 version and am looking forward to comparing the two.

It's called "Extreme Edition", maybe we can expect WMA-HD version on 2nd disc.

Bad news,

Just got an email from HMVUK and according to them, the set is no more:

Dear Customer,

I regret to inform you that the forthcoming release has been withdrawn
from the release date by the supplier:

Alien Vs Predator: 2dvd: Special Packaging
Lathan,Sanaa: Raoul Bova: Lance Henriksen: Paul Anderson

Format: DVD (including tin packaging)

However, the regular version of the DVD will be released on 7/03/05.

You can cancel the order and re-place an order for the regular version.
If you have other items in your order you may wish to call us and we
can amend your order for you.

Regards,

Customer Service

Well there are Tins listed on other UK sites, maybe HMV had to stop selling it its on a few UK sites, like www.play.com for instance.

I checked Play.com and while I found the listing, it won't allow me to select it for purchase. Are there any other sites you could suggest? I also checked AmazonUK and they have'nt a listing either. This totally sucks.

Korea offers a 2-disc edition with a plethora of extras but apparently not R1. Fox did this to us with I, Robot as well. What gives? Looks like the R1 release will be not worth having when compared to other regions.

What's the status on the various regions and the various cuts of the film? Wasn't there supposed to be a director's cut which was promised to make it a watchable film?

ha, no amount of added footage can make that movie even remotely watchable. that movie had more holes in it than swiss cheese.

Superb film and more footage can only make it better, and I am opting for the HK dvd at the moment as its got it all and the extra footage version wont be about for some time it seems.
