so it's been deleted? Does that mean out of stock or out of print or just that it never came out?

Also - any versions of this DVD have some sort of extended version?

Got my HK R3 2-disc in the mail yesterday. The extras on disc two seem to be pretty extensive. I didn't watch them all, but it looks to be at least over 2 hours of documentary footage. The 11 deleted/extended scenes were nothing to write home about....totaled about 7 minutes. The DTS track on the main feature sounded pretty sweet.

I haven't recieved mine from CDWOW yet but it is on the way. it sounds like it is a great set.

EDIT: I just recieved my AvP disc. now I'm waiting to hear what the differences are between the 2 disc SE and the Extreme Edition if any.

After checking last night, looks to be right about 3 hours of video extras. The "Making of AVP" that's on the R1 release is extended here to a full hour.

Thanks is it the same cut as the U.S version, with the extended opening?

There's DTS on the U.S. disc as well, incidentally.

Nope. I had it pre-ordered and got an email back from HMV.UK saying that it had been withdrawn by the supplier. Everybody else who had it listed, still had the listing but it would not let you click to purchase it.

So the US (Region 1) release is also DTS? Then the only diff. is the extended features/xtra right?

EDIT: There's a Region 1 Limited Edition Set with BUST... any good? Retail? (tons going on eBay)

I went ahead and ordered the 2-disc R3 Special Edition. Screw this 1-disc R1 non-sense. This is definitely not a movie I want to buy twice, so I'll just get the best version that's out now.

So what are the deleted scenes on the R3? Just like the three crappy deleted scenes in R1 (but only more of them) or do they actually flesh any of the characters out?

Also, is the extended opening (which was blink and you miss it IMO) the closest we'll get to the director's cut that Anderson was talking about way back when?
