I have this set and the case is basically cardboard made to look like leather, and the book is the same dimension as the case. I have not watched this edition, but watched the UK edition, which hase excellent PQ. I wonder how much better the case is on the Korean LE?

Finally got mine.

Overall, it's a decent LE but I still find the Korean Set to be the better of the two.

I guess I set my expectations too high.

There is already one of these on eBay by the way, you should check out the description. It has a starting bid of $99.99 and a BIN of $150.

That's one hell of a description....makes me want to bid $100

I thought Salo CC or possibly FITW LE was the MOTHER-OF-ALL-RARE-DVDS....

Three things REALLY got to me specifically:

1) The title not only makes it sound like this is individually numbered, but also that the one for sale here is #1 out of 1000.

2) In the title and the description, it makes it sound like it's made of 100% real leather.

3) The line "This edition has everything the wooden box edition has and more." is a bit off also, obviously trying to build this version of up more than it should be. What "more" is included here that isn't in the other one?

Funny you should mention the "leather" thing. Some of the earlier pics gave me the impression that this set had a "leather" bound case.

As more and more detailed pics began to pop up, this LE set started to look like a cardboard shoebox with a "leather-like" appearance.

i think people got way too high expectations regarding this release.... and place the korean release on top to measure the level of craftsmanship..

when you check the descriptions in dvdetective, i think the item was appropriately described... but on the other hand, i prefer to keep my korean set pristine and use the Philippine Release for viewing..

that ebay posting is misleading though..

Unfortunately I must be one of the people who set my expectations too high.

The box is made out of what appears to be a pressed particle paper. The moment you see it, you realize it looks nothing like leather. I think it's simply the sheen that the paper gives off when being photographed that gives it a "leather" appearance.

Since it's a soft paper, which is wrapped around cardboard with some foam, it has a flimsy tear-able feel to it. If you note the image above where you can see the black area on the left side of the box inside the box, this is more pressed paper. Mine is a bit loose, and I worry it will tear after opening it repeatedly.

The booklet itself is nice, matching the Korean LE's booklet in print and paper quality.

There is no slip inside showing which number of the 1000 it is, unlike the Korean LE, which comes with a slip of paper #'ing it out of the total amount produced.

IMO, the only 2 things upping the price of this LE was it's short run and area of production.
