I'll take that particular Infernal Affairs set (crap) anyday :)
|
Received the last of my single-title R0 DTS's today from CDWow.
They trickled in one-by-one from Hong Kong, but still faster than Amazon.com has been lately. The results are as follows: IA1: One disc, no slipcover IA2: Two discs, with slipcover IA3: Two discs, with slipcover |

Wildo:
I've travelled to Hong Kong 5 times in the last 6 years and I've been to many local DVD shops. Most Hong Kong titles are indeed Region Free and yes they are all legit. The only instance when a Hong Kong title may be Region 3 is when a U.S. production company bought the rights to show that film in America ex. Jet Li's Fearless, Curse of the Golden Flower. I in fact saw that 8 disc Megastar set at a local HMV, a legit British retailer with many franchises all over Asia and Europe. Hong Kong in fact discourages piracy and pretty much all the local DVD shops in Kowloon are legitimate retailers. The only instance when I've seen pirated material is at the local flea markets. I own quite a few Megastar DVD's, again a legitimate Hong Kong DVD supplier, and most of them are All Regions. |

Alot of those bootlegs of Chinese films come from Mainland China. That doesn't surprise me at all. All I am saying is that most Hong Kong DVD's are Region Free and Legit, you just have to know where to buy them. Since I bought mine from Hong Kong and from legitimate retailers, I know they are real.
www.dddhouse.com is a 100% legitimate retailer. I've bought many DVD's and VCD's from them and they are all real. www.hmv.com.hk: This is another good source for legitimate Hong Kong movies. I shopped there when I was in HK many times. www.fivestarlaser.com: This is a Southern California based Hong Kong retailer. I've actually been inside their retail store and all their material is 100% real imported from Hong Kong. |

I would like the version to have: DTS cantonese good english subs DVD audio commentary with subs for this as well http://www.cd-wow.us/detail_results_...uct_code=11662 <s>http://www.cd-wow.us/detail_results_...uct_code=15954</s> <s>http://www.cd-wow.us/detail_results_...uct_code=20605</s> edit: Only the R2 UK DVD of the first film meets all your requirements. The UK DVDs of parts 2 and 3 are missing the commentary tracks. The DVDs are R2 coded and PAL though, so you'll need a region-free player with PAL-NTSC conversion. |

So just to Clarify, none of the other editions (HK versions) have commentary with english subs?

Nope, the Megastar (HK versions) have commentary on IAI and II, but with no english subs. You need to get IAII on Dragon Dynasty for the subs.

Some were also engraved, but no way is all that worth the price difference of the 6 disc.
