How long for Japanese price reductions?

Hey all,

For newer US movies being released in Japan...

How long does it usually take for the prices to drop? I know I got Identity a few months ago and it was just reduced. Anyone? Is there a typical wait?

There doesn't seem to be any set pattern. Sometimes it takes a year, sometimes never. Some companies seem to do price drops, while others never seem to.

(there was a similar problem with VHS. Unlike here, some titles in Japan never dropped below "rental price", so there were always some movies that never dropped below around $100 US)

Usually the price drop means they are giving out the barebones. All the studios are now offering sudden sales on DVD.It's like buy 2 and you get 1 free.No gurantees also on the titles.League of Extraordinary Gentleman has a price reduction but it's nothing compared to the Ultimate Edition
