Hmm...that's a little odd. Mine says NTSC on the back and plays on NTSC stuff. Is what your friend has the ltd. box set?

Just got the one from China, Chinese ONLY and doesn't have any English Sub. Widescreen (16 : 9) PAL System. Picture and sound actually pretty good, except for the stupid FACE logo that kept poping out like every 10 - 15 minutes for 10 seconds.

The "Face" logo is obviously put there to prevent bootlegging, but what about the people that actually pay for these dvds? Doesn't Face care that they're basically fucking over their actual customer with this logo crap?

As far as I know, DVD-5 version has no Eng sub, DVD-9 version has Eng sub plus 36 min feature. Boxset version is dvd-9 disc plus a booklet. They are all PAL system.

I received the DTS PAL disc today and it's 4:3 letterboxed despite the 16:9 on the cover. Can anyone verify if the NTSC version is 16:9?

DVDBeaver says the Special Edition is 2.35 NONAnamorphic PAL,
with pretty bad picture quality and a nonremovable FACE logo

Got my copy of the film today, limited boxset. Looks surely like an cheap telecine to me - once even the film jumps upside a bit showing the next frame... surely a better transfer is needed badly!.

And yes, it's NONanamorphic. However the Dolby and DTS 5.1 do sound very, very good.
