ebay sellers offers a standard & limited collector's box of Won Kar-Wai's new movie 2046. The thing is I couldn't find any trace for this release on any asian site. The seller atates that this is an official release (by GuangDong Goldface compnay) that comes with English subtitles and Dts channel.

I'm going to wait until more Asian versions are released in the next couple of months, in order to get more accurate info on specs and which version looks/sounds best.

no way this film is on any fully legit DVD already.

Official DVDs come out fairly quicky in China to fend off bootleggers.
The only thing is I never saw any mention on monkeypeaches or anywhere else
of an official release date for 2046 on dvd......

It is indeed already out in Mainland China. DVDs come out fast over there and are very cheap. The first site I linked to, sensasian.com, is a legit dealer. If the DVD they sell was a boot, it would more than likely be region free and have English subs, but it has neither.

all those you linked to guys are GDFACE discs : official, yes - but remember they issued the extended "Hero" with their logo popping up top left every 5 mins for 30 seconds...
some found it very annoying.

WARNING: The Chinese theatrical release of 2046 is CUT. There are missing scenes, such as the nude Tony Leung/Zhang Ziyi bed romp. As such, the new DVDs will most likely be the Chinese theatrical version.

Listed specs are wrong, both are PAL, I have asked.

Correction. The limited one is indeed NTSC, all-region. Some ads say PAL but the back of the box states NTSC and it plays on NTSC equipment.

Are you sure? my friend has got one and he said the dvd is in PAL. He checked it using powerDVD.

Usually those are bootlegs

Jet Li Hero DVD was also listed as DVD-5 and DVD-9. I've seen some dvds from Zoke Culture have DVD-5/DVD-9 symbol on the cover too, so I don't think it indicates bootleg.

According to monkeypeaches, 2046 DVD-5 version has no English subtitle.
