At Five in the Afternoon
Panj é asr or 'At Five in the Afternoon' by Samira Makhmalbaf will be released on dvd in france on May 4th but with no english subtiltiles.......
but there is good news, the film will be shown by Sundance Channel here in the U.S on May 12, and then encore presentations will be on May 15 and 30. The film never got a U.S distributer but kudos to Sundance and its channel for showing the film first at the 2004 festival and now on television. I highly recommend anyone in the U.S who is interested in World Cinema to get this channel, it also recently showed Patrice Chereau's "Son frere" before it went into distribution not to mention "Crane World" from Argentina.
