Bootleggers have to keep up with technology, alot of releases have no English subtitles (to curb bootlegging also I think) so if there's a demand for a film and the bootleggers know it then they have to find a way to meet the demand, be happy that the subs are good, alot of times they're full of "Engrish".

You bought it from e-Bay (CK,ST or MV) -> Bootleg
and it is a great copy.
...The picture itself could be cleaner but it is no way any kind of bootleg.
But I have never seen a bootleg copy where someone has remixed subtitles onto dvd.
There are two types of people:
1) They want the movie that hasn't been released here -and- they want it to have ENGLISH SUBS and be Region Free
2) They want the movie and see it has subs and buy it.
Cheers!
