Do any of you Aussie members know if Mediterraneo is 16/9? Here's the link to Ezydvd:

Looks like the British are also releasing Meditrraneo: May 3

per blackstar.uk

The Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film in 1992, Mediterraneo is set in 1941. Eight Italian soldiers are sent to guard a remote Greek island, but there is no enemy in sight just an island of women and children. As their radio breaks down and their weapons are stolen what can they do but join in the local culture. With everything a soldier could want - drink, drugs, prostitutes, sun, sand and sea - they relax and wait for the war to end.

OF COURSE...no R1 date as of yet.
Cheers,
Pro-B

Don't know why but this film just popped into my head. I saw it in the theater in the early 90's and really enjoyed it. Pro-Bassoonist, did you ever pick up a copy of the R4 or R2 and can you comment on the quality?

Thanks for getting back to me. Hmm, might pull the trigger on the R4.

I noticed the distributor is Force Entertainment. If the R2 transfer is horrid, I'd avoid this R4 release as well. I don't know if they release any titles in the US but the quality is about on par with Madacy.

Bad news. Oh well plenty of other stuff to watch until someone releases a decent version.
