The Eye SE ?

I've read lots of positive things about "The Eye" and am tempted to purchase it, but I see there is an SE and a bare bones version.

Question: does anyone know what is on the SE, and where can I get this thing cheap? I was hoping (based on another thread) to get it at CDWOW, but they don't seem to carry it any longer!

Any help much appreciated!

I think there is a region 1 release coming in October. I know i'm going to see it at a local theater at an Asianfest there having near me. So i'm guessing its coming out after a limited release.

It was playing in NYC in July while I was there, but I didn't get a chance to see it. I got the HK R0 ntsc version from us.yesasia.com and it wasn't quite what I expected. I liked it, but I wish I could've rented it first. But it was pretty cheap!

I think there are two "Special Edition" releases. One from Hong Kong, and one from Korea. DON'T get the Korean one because the subtitles are out-of-synch and really ruin the movie (at least it did for me).

Looks like there's a UK R2 version, also... any info on that one?

I have the HK version and it's fine. It's a pretty good movie, but nothing mind-blowing. Plus, the HK version is the cheapest.

Are the Subs on the Korean version out of synch by a lot? Is it player dependant?

Sorry, it was so bad that I no longer have the disc. I am not sure if it is player dependant, but I don't think so. I seem to remember trying it on two seperate DVD players.

It is NOT the player that is at fault with the sync problem!!
R3 (Korea) -

Theatrical trailer
Cast & Crew info
Cast & Crew interviews (subtitled)
English, Japanese and Korean Subtitles
1.85:1 anamorphic NTSC
Cantonese DTS ES
Cantonese Dolby Digital 5.1 ES
Amaray Case
Note - The English subtitles run out of synch with the speech from around 30 mins onwards.

Just ordered the regular (non SE) Hong Kong version from cdwow for 7.99 gbp shipped! It keeps showing up and disappearing, so be vigilant.

I have the U.K. edition of THE EYE, which plays as a region zero (even though it is listed as region 2 - it's DEFINITELY not a bootleg). The cover has a 3D look to it. Extras include The Making of The Eye, Special Effects documentary, Production Team Info and a theatrical trailer. Very nice edition! $28.00. Picked it up this past April at the Chiller Theatre convention in NJ. Not sure what the U.S. edition from Palm Pictures will contain.....
