I've seen an 8 DVD box set of the first 53 episodes of Dragon Ball Z and was wondering if anyone could comment on its quality/content.

If I've done my research properly, it appears that I'd need to get the 17 US dvds to get episodes 1-53 so the box set is very appealing. I'm wondering if the content is the same between the disks or if the import contains uncut versions?

Any help would be appreciated!

For the diehard fan who knows Japanese and has a big picture collection of dead presidents on US Treasury paper, the set to get is the Japanese one, not yet released. The question is, will these DVDs have English subs. Your best bet may be to wait for a Hong Kong vendor to license these DVDs for sale in the HK SAR. If that happens the price will be a third of the Japanese version, and you will almost certainly get English subtitles, and even a Cantonese soundtrack.
