Question about PAL availability.
Hey all...
I have a codefree/region free DVD player that plays PAL. Now, PAL is totally new to me (since i am int he states) and i have a few question. Exactly what areas producr PAL DVDs? I mean, are there certain regions that do, and don't. Also, i will have trouble displaying PAL anamorphic widescreen dvd's -- are a lot of PAL dvd's anamorphic?
Thanks,
Matt

Europe (France, Germany, England etc etc), Australia, New Zealand, Spain....
That's about it for the major's.
You might have trouble displaying anamorphic PAL depending on your player (usually APEX, Shinco etc will guff you up on those)

...also take a look here... and here... and here... and here...
...finally, also check out this site...
NOTE: ...as far as (laserdiscs) and DVDs are concerned, you can forget about SECAM, since it only applies to broadcast systems - and thus, inevitably, to VCRs - but not to (LDs and/or) DVDs)...
