Wow! I can't believe it. I bought my n996 in March 2002 with the upgrade switch. I assumed it had the November 9 upgrade. To my utter shock after checking it today as a last resort it does not. Where can I get the upgrade for my player? Codefree, I think my problem with droputs will go away once I upgrade.
Mine has the upgrade and since I received the BTTF set today, I'll double check the dts track anyway on part 1 tonight.

I installed the upgrade and while there isn't as many dropouts, BTTF 1 Region 4 in DTS still has a few. Maybe after a few viewings it will go away?

One other thing I noticed with BTTF R4 is that the subtitles come late, like after the actors speak their lines. Is this normal or a Malata specialty?

Try changing the Subpicture setting in the Malata menu from Always to Never, or vice versa. That sometimes helps, but remember to change it back after this one particular disc.

FWIW, BTTF 1 dts played flawlessly on my Malata N996 which I purchased with the November upgrade. I had forgotten how damn funny this movie is!
