Would one of you who owns one be able to walk her through it? Could you tell me which model number you picked up at Best Buy and if it matches the picture above or does it look different. Please and thank you.

Then choose "general setup" from the menu
Then choose "TV Type" and it will give her a choice of "DTSC", "Multi", and "PAL". Choose "NTSC", and it should now work.

I will try unplugging it again. I put the DVD in and it says Disc Loading, then it says
Wrong Region. I don't even have to hit the play button.
I also tried putting the setting on NTSC. I turned it off and unplugged it. I put the DVD back
in after turning it on and it immediately says Disc Loading, then Wrong Region.
Help!!!!

I just tried reg 3 Battle Royale and reg 4 Hard Target and they both worked without a hitch. I checked the dvd player box and it said version 1 on a sticker on the outside, so maybe you can check that out.

FYI! This thing already crapped out on me. I think it's because of how hot it gets, especially if left on. The movies will start freezing up. I'm gonna try and take it back to Best Buy tomorrow. Hopefully they'll let me even though I don't have a reciept.
