The Young Ones (TV) ?

I couldnt find this on the exclusive non-region 1 list. What are my options for getting the Young Ones (the british TV show) on dvd?

Since they were released VHS in the US I've been hoping for an R1 release someday, but it's unlikely we'll ever see one.

bbcshop.com has a DVD that has 6 episodes on it. Does anyone have this DVD?

It's not being released until May. This is awesome news, though. I've been waiting for The Young Ones to come out on DVD forever. They're also releasing The Very Best Of Bottom!!! Ok, I can die a happy man now.

Check the bbcshop.com site, it looked like they had the complete red dwarf on DVD.

So when I went and checked out bbcshop.com, they had the young ones listed in pounds (about 12, ir I recall correctly). Does anyone know if it's an R1 or R2 release that they have listed?

The only R1 young ones is from Anchor Bay - not the Ones we're talking about. There's nothing on Blackstar and ezdvd - so I'm out of places to look.

Not that it matters to me, I'm region free baby - but others might like to know.

Thanks for the info...I've been waiting a couple of years for a Young Ones DVD as well.

For those wondering, (and unable to click a link) here's the episodes on the DVD from bbcshop.com:

DEMOLITION - Facist oiks at the Town Hall want to demolish the house. Why bother with Vyv around to do the business for them?

OIL - As Rick, Vyv, Neil and Mike move into their new house, the talking statue at the front door begins an odyssey of zaniness that is to culminate in a worker's revolution and a fully-fledged benefit concert in the front room.

BORING - A terrorist seige in their own house; a visitation from hell; a fairytale world that flourishes while they are asleep - what more entertainment could four students possibly want? Yet they are so B-O-R-E-D that Neil is driven to dig himself a grave and Vyv chops his finger off.

BOMB - A potentially explosive situation erupts when a bomb falls on the house...But worse! The TV licence man calls.

INTERESTING - It's party time! Where else could you mingle with the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, a giant sandwich and a singing tomato? Pretty amazing stuff, eh? Just ignore Neil's boring hippy friend chilling out in the fridge...

FLOOD - While London floods Rick tries to elevate proceedings with a game of hide-and-seek. Meanwhile his sociology file is set on fire by Vyv, Mike's room is occupied by a pride of lions, and landlord, Alexi Sayle turns into an axe-wielding homicidal maniac.

I read in a different thread that they're probably to be released Aug 5th instead of May 8th (my bday). The confussion was from the way the date is written in US vs england (5/8 US = 8/5 UK)

It is indeed August 5th, and it is Region 2.

Hey, is that The Vicar of Dibley I see on DVD? Guilty pleasure - tries too hard to make some social commentary, but still wildly funny at times.
