Roughly translated via Babblefish:

"In the category better film in foreign language, one awaited the Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain, of the French Jean-Pierre Jeunet. It is the film of Bosnia-Herzégovine, No Man' S Land, carried out by Danis Tanovic, which finally gained the Oscar. But the French do not set out again the empty hands since documentary French was rewarded. **time-out** a culprit ideal, of Jean-Xavier of Lestrade, product by Denis Poncet, tell the combat of a lawyer for defend a teenager black of 15 year accused of murder of a tourist white of 65 year, in May 2000 with Jacksonville (Florida), and which A sign of consent after have be strike by a inspector. This documentary will be diffused in May or June on France 2."

IMO, Amelie should have won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film but at least Lord Of The Rings lost so last night wasn't a total waste.

I loved Lord of the Rings personally. I don't necessarily think it should have gotten Best Picture but neither should have A Perfect Mind. It's a shame that Oscars are truly a worthless ceremony. A nomination is all about how much money a studio spends to influence the Academy members to vote for their film and rarely hs anything to do with the film itself.

If the Oscars were truly about quality then Requiem for a Dream would have been nominated and won in 2000.

Actually, No Man's Land is a very good film. But my vote would still have gone to Amelie.

I have to agree with you in giving the Oscar(R) to Amelie, but don't overlook No Man's Land when it come out on DVD. I think it was psychologicaly given due to the "war" on terror & if you are some dolt who thinks that if you cross Shine with the Nutty Professor & give it best picture, the I can see the logic.
But face the facts, LAGAAN is a better film than kukoo-closeted-anti-semite-Ahole-math guy!
