Wasabi, Region 1?

I just finished watching "Crimson Rivers" tonite(great start, very cliched ending..oh well) and became interested in other Jean Reno flicks.

Well in my search I stumbled upon a little flick by the name "Wasabi"(which was produced by none other than Luc Besson)and I was wondering if anyone knew of a dvd release of this film. Particularly region 1. Any info fellas?

This just came out in the theaters here in Japan last month. Didn't see it though.
Stars Jean Reno and Japanese actress Ryoko Hirosue. No word of a DVD release for region 2 here.
You can check out the movie link in Japanese athttp://www.wasabimovie.com

Any comparison of the DTS track on the HK release to the Dolby Digital on the Region 1? The Region 1 sounds really good.

just rented this today. The r1 disc itself is excellent. Sharp and crisp anamorphic transfer and excellent 5.1 soundtrack. The movie itself is nothing special. It follows the Hollywood formula of feel-good light action flicks with the typical strong silent protagonist, silly sidekick, and hot chick (Ryoko). It has the feel of a movie that tries really hard to appeal to everybody
