Has anyone seen Guest House Paradiso???
I was wondering if this movie is any good.
I have never seen "Bottom", the TV series from which
this film was made.
If I liked The Parole Officer (Steve Coogan) and Mr Bean.
Do You think I would like this film? I have read a lot of
bad reviews, people said if you did not like Bottom then
don't bother...
On another note...has anyone seen a release date for The Parole Officer? It was supposed to be released theatrically (in the US in November) but I never saw any ads for it. I saw it in a theater in Ireland, and I thought it was pretty funny!
Thanks
-Brett

I'v seen it, its fairly duff. There are some laugh out loud bits in it, but not many.
Bottom is funny, but its only 30 mins long, when you drag it out for an hour and a half it gets very boring.

Guest House Paradiso is certainly a film that would be enjoyed more by Bottom/Young Ones/Rik Mayall fans, or those with a strong tendency towards enjoyment of gutter/toilet humour.
It has its moments but overall it really is very much for fans of Bottom. I enjoyed the film, but did not think much of Mr Bean if that is any help.

If you enjoyed the Parole Officer you should try and get hold of 'I'm Alan Partridge', it's made by the same guy who made Parole Officer. It's miles funnier a six part comedy that was played on British TV, you should be able to pick it at any Region 2 supplier.
Hotel paradiso was a very poor bottom, rent it, don't buy it.

I'll go along with the consensus here: Bottom is an acquired taste, and not for everyone, by far. It's basically the Three Stooges with dirty words and sexual innuendo. It's a far cry from Mr. Bean. I absolutely love Bottom, the live shows, and the movie, but if I had never seen Bottom, I would probably hate Guest House Paradiso.
