Is Japan releasing Godzilla movies on DVD like they did on laser for region 1?
Japan released a ton of Godzilla movies on laser disc. They were in widescreen, color, stereo sound and in the Japanese language...no dubbing! Are they releasing them on DVD now, or will they in the future?

Toho Studios has released several Godzilla films on DVD in Japan, but none have English subtitles. The only release with any significant extras was the most recent. Run a search at CD Japan and they should all come up.

Since the dawn of regional coding, Toho is notoriously stingy about releasing original-language product here in the West. The Godzilla 2000 soundtrack fiasco was a perfect example.
So, unless you can speak Japanese and have a region-free player, it looks like a long, cold wait the typical American G-fan.
