HUGE order at DDDHOuse

Hello everyone,

i plan to order about 84 dvd movies from DDDhouse and to take advantage of the wholesale prices i would have to wire the money to Johnny at DDDhouse first. Has anyone done this before? I'm just want to make sure on what Im gettin my self into before spending alot of money? Can anyone tell me how it is done? any info would be appreciated.

thanks

I dunno about the wiring issue, but I'd suggest that you ask him to split it up into multiple shipments and pay the difference. A shipment this large would likely get flagged by Customs.

Whoa

Just to be clear. You will have added fees for your wire transfer. You probably will have to pay your bank and his bank for the wire transfer. So take those fees into consideration to see if you still are getting it cheaper than if you went the normal route.

These guys probably want the wire transfer because they don't have to pay the credit card fees (imposed on the seller at maybe 1.5%) and you get stuck with the front-end fees of the transfer.

I also think you should split your order up because if you are in the States, you might get a customs notice asking you to fork over a couple percentage of the declared value for customs.

Good Luck!

back when Hivizone was only taking wire transfers or money orders only, I used Western Union to do a money transfer, which I believe was around $15 or $20. And yes, there's definitely a 100% chance that customs will flag an order this big. Hmmm...don't really have too much good advice in this case.

sounds like a good plan... I was going to warn you to stay away from international bank transfers also. It's around $30 flat fee I believe. Ridiculous...

So... I've got a question. You say you are ordering 84 titles to take advantage of 'wholesale prices'...

I may be misinterpreting it... but are you saying that you will be paying less than advertised on the website?

cheers,
Gabe

Check with your bank first about the fee. Then check to see if you are supposed to pay Johnny's incoming wire transfer bank fee. I bet you in the long run it will be cheaper to use your credit card at their regular prices in lots of around 35 so you can get the 2nd Day UPS Shipping.

be falling out after watching 84 movies ! On the internet, it's just too easy
ain't it?

don't know if you need 4 shipments, 2 will probably do. Just have Johnny mark some value on each box under $400US. Will he accept credit card with wholesale?

Tangno,

I wired money to them one time only and that's it. Here are the charges you will definitely incur:

Shipping: About $90 for 80 DVDs
His bank transfer fee: $10
Your bank wire transfer fee: $30 (Wells Fargo and B of A typical charges). If you use Western Union, they charge a flat fee of $15 plus a percentage of the total amount (I think 5%).
Import Tax: 6.75% plus brokerage house fees (usually a total of $10)

This is the reason why I don't place huge orders with them any longer. The extra fees are not worth it and you should break it up into several orders.

what about defective discs?

Just curious about returns. What is the time limit for returning a defective disc?
Might have to do a cursory check of all 84. Hope they are all ok, but odds are a couple may not be.

Do you get your popcorn wholesale too?

HEHE thx for the replies everyone.... But I will not be going the Wholesale price route anymore, Seems to end up more costly. I think I will break it into two shipments and ask Johnny to reduce the Price value. Johnny will not give me the wholesale price if I break up the shipments only if I order 50 or more.(that sucks)
but Thanks everybody for the great advice good thing i went to the Forum for Advice before i Ordered my movies...

Eye exam oh man I thought thats what work insurance is for? hehe.

But no I like don't get popcorn at wholesale, I buy it and then i butter my own popcorn.. HHEHEHE

I think Hivizone & DDDhouse both give you only 14 days from arrival.

If you can get your statements online. You can "capture" the graphic of your statement. Use paintbrush to "mask" some of the numbers and e-mail it to them.
