Sorry to keep bring this up, but I ordered this from an R2
vendor (www.proxis.nl). It was scheduled for release on May 16th (today). If anyone has seen this DVD at a European physical store (not online). Please post. I really hope that May 16th is the actual release date and NOT just a guess.

Don't worry, it has really released: Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure. I've seen it available locally for about Dfl.40 (Dutch guilders -> approx US$17). Good news= Anamorphic Widescreen.

There is 1 minor remark, though: I hope you saw the inlay before you ordered it, because I think it's really a "love-it-or-hate-it" thing...

Got it today. I was surprised because they never sent me a shipping notice, but I probably wouldn't have understood it anyway.

Hey Len

You said before that this movie is really a "love it or hate it thing" Where do you stand? I really like it personally.

IT's released in Germany too. The picture quality is good and anamorphic. English track is also available with removable subtitle!

Wuffi

Is the release in Germany also put out my Kinowelt?
Are the extras (a trailor, and some still photos) the same?

Here is a scan of the cover for the release that I have:

Actually, I meant the cover by "love-it...thing", but I suppose you're right - so is the movie. Frankly, it's been at least 10 years since I saw it, and I simply can't remember enough to really have an opinion.
Maybe I'll rent it sometime.

Yes, it's realesed by Kinowelt but unfortunately no extras! Just trailer and photos (some look like making of) are on it! But the picture quality is really good. I own this DVD!

PS: The dutch DVD is as same as the German version. The dutch DVD is also by Kinowelt. Kinowelt has Rights for movies produced by Studio-Canal in many european countries!

The British version comes out at the end of June. I wonder if it too will be the same?

US availability?

Does anyone know if there are R1 release plans? I can order from {UK vendor of choice} and get the R2, but since I live in R1, and my main player is R1, if that's got a "forthcoming" release, I'd wait for that... anyone know or should I just order the R2 version?
