Picked up a Lifestraw water filter for $10. Other than that, I saw a whole lot of junk once I got the site to work better.

I'm unable to add some stuff to my cart, like Greenies for Dogs. Why?!!

Yep, their website is performing rather crappily. Their own links take me to different places, working half the time, I can't find my 'watched' deals on the site or the app till just a few minutes ago.
They should have a 'thumbs down' for certain deals - I don't want to see this deal, don't ever show it to me again. Ton of stuff I wouldn't pick up at the dollar store, much less Amazon.
I read they raised their prices for vendors to participate this year. And some Amazon employees in Germany, I think, went on strike today.

I'm now getting Website Unavailable. Ouch Amazon. First I miss out on an Instant Pot and now can't even login to check for stuff.

What a clusterfuck of a site. Instead of making things easy for customers, Amazon has made that main page incredibly hard to navigate and making things ridiculously hard to find. Again, shouldn't they have been prepared for the fucking day that they've been promoting for the past 2 months?

I agree about the landing page. It's nearly impossible to find or navigate to. Big design fail.
I was able to buy some kindle books but also got some 404s. I will say there are some better items than previous years, but it doesn't help if you can't get to them.

And there's no way to see your Watch List on the computer. WTF?

Did I miss the Nvidia Shield?
Also, did they always carry Apple TV 4k units? I don't remember them being ship/sold by Amazon before.

Yep, this is bad. 75% I can't see my Watchlist, so I'm glad I spent time going through deals to 'watch' them. And i don't remember specifically what they were, and I sure don't remember when they were on sale.

OOHH it's at the BOTTOM. Makes sense, since it's been at the top of my screen, easily found by clicking "watching" for the last three days.
Thanks! (seriously, I would not have found that)

Wow, what a s**t show so far. I wasn't expecting much really, so the selection isn't a surprise but the website shenanigans was. I couldn't access anything from work for the first 3 hours. Luckily, the set of headphones I wanted were on sale for only $1 more at Best Buy (part of their anti-Prime Day sale) so I grabbed those on the way home. There are a couple of things of interest, but like last year, I'll probably come away empty handed.

I been eyeing the items in my cart to see if they go down on prime sale and it doesn't reflect. But surprisingly when I clicked the items they are on prime sale. So I ended up purchasing (or "claiming") two of the items in my cart. I have a few more items to go. I didn't think I would end up partaking in this Prime sale today.

I have a ?: If one BUYS an HD Prime video, is it just a matter of downloading an mp4 or h264 (etc) file, putting it on a flash drive or hard drive & watching it; or is it more complicated than that; requiring proprietary software & or hardware?

You watch it the same way you watch a Youtube video. It streams through an internet connection. And you watch it either through the Amazon website, or using an Amazon Video app which is available on almost all devices. If you have a smart TV, a smart Bluray player, a video game console, or a streaming device (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV), you can watch the video on your TV. It's also available on tablets and phones.

You don't download the file. It stays on the Amazon video servers. When you buy it, the video is unlocked to watch anytime and stays on Amazon account.

Re: Amazon Prime Day - July 16, 2018
This is the first year I've had Prime (I took the trial). While I definitely came out ahead, due to the $20 credit & the free trial, I can't believe how lame Prime Day is compared to the hype. I bought the 2 Uni horror boxes before Prime day started (& read that they've been cheaper in the past); & bought a 6 pack of crackers. Not what I expected.

I bit on an Echo (that mid-sized "2nd Gen" one). I don't know how much use I'll have for the smart features, but this seemed like a good price point to find out. It looks like the sale for Amazon devices runs through the rest of today for anyone else thinking about anything.
The site fiascos kept me far away from looking into anything else. Personally, I hate these Amazon sales with waves of lightning deals. It's too much work and frustration for me (as a customer), and I typically end up buying very little.
