Supermarket CD bargains
Dunno if there's already been a thread anywhere on this, but...
I've been finding some good compact disc bargains in my local supermarkets lately (and compact disc bargains are about as easy to find as a needle in a haystack these days).
They generally have crap, and it's a mixed bag of UMG, Sony, & Warners stuff. This being Jersey - the lion's share of the Sony's are usually Springsteen's.
But once in a while some good stuff pops up.
Recent finds (all in the $5.98 - $6.98 range):
"The Joker" - Steve Miller Band
"Now & Then" - The Carpenters
"Get Close" - The Pretenders (the new all-board reissue)
"War Child" - Jethro Tull
"Parallel Lines" - Blondie
"Tonight" - Bowie (the current Virgin one)
Also found a few of those Warner/Rhino 2CD "Definitive" sets. I grabbed:
Faces, America, & Bread.
Maybe the nicest surprise was the recent appearance of some of those Warner/Rhino min-LP "Rhino Replicas" series CD's.
Bought:
"Close To The Edge" - Yes
"Toulouse Street" - The Doobie Brothers
I've never seen these for less than about $18.99 apiece. I'd call this a score!

Has anybody else spotted any good CD deals at local supermarkets? I realize this is a very regional thing, so for the sake of perspective, I'm in northeastern New Jersey - and the stores I refer to here are the Shop Rite, Pathmark, and A&P chains.

Re: Supermarket CD bargains
I used to find unusual CD's in seasonal displays set up in an aisle at Meijer, a Michigan-based grocer. They sold for about $6-$7 each. I found a Canadian Who's Next and an Original Surfaris reissue on Sundazed, among others. Sadly, those displays haven't gone up in a few years.

I saw The Black Crowes - The Lost Crowes for 6.98. Same sticker in the image posted above.
This was also at an A&P in CT.
