Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)
I'm surprised Im even seeing this ethical discussion after all the questionable deals posted on this site. How many used the GSA link at bn.com that was supposed to be for government employees, for example.

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)
Considering most magazine publishers would sacrifice their first born in order to increase their circulation numbers this is about as big of a non-issue as you can get.

If it was that simple, they'd be giving subscriptions away a lot more frequently and easily, without having to jump through these selection criteria hoops. Yes, advertising revenue is more important than subscribtions, but it is targeted advertising with advertisers getting responses to those ads that keep magazines in business. The publishers want these free subscriptions to go to certain demographics, and we should respect that. |

Jacob - give it up. I had this same argument a year ago, and apparently there really are gosh-darn-golly good people left in this world who never tell a lie. These people also report Internet purchases on their State Tax forms and pay sales tax after the fact. They probably even report themselves to the police if they find themselves speeding.
The world would be a prettier place if we were more like them.... :hippie: |

And ... I want free stuff! Mine mine mine! [it's fun to sit back and watch the inane ways people justify their choices] |

Pfff. Wrong, the magazines are clearly dying to give their magazines out to everyone. And their advertisers are excited about hitting all the wrong demographics. They should clearly be thanking all the people who lie.
...and someone here once posted that they always get their subs by selecting other, other, none or such generic answers. |

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)
Anybody else having trouble getting Maxim renewals? They seemed to have stopped giving me renewals beyond 2025. I don't know if I should sign up anymore. Maybe I'll and check my status online to see if any were added.

Re: Free Magazines (Updated Daily)
^There was a five-year subscription term limitation that went into effect around '07. At the time it was for Maxim, Blender and Stuff.
EDIT. Copy & paste from an old post: Dear Chad, We recently received a subscription order from Publications Unlimited extending your subscription to BLENDER for another 11 issues. Since your current subscription to BLENDER is active through the year 2089, we have rejected this order as it extends your subscription beyond the new five-year subscription term limitation that we have in place. |

I hope I get it, but don't think I've ever gotten one of these first 500 offers.
