I have the worst sense of timing.

All the items I've actually seen today are "skips" and the ones I miss I'm interested in.

I picked up the portable battery power extenders (for cell phones, mp3 players, etc.) and the blue refurb Sandisk 512MB MP3 player last woot-off. Very nice.

But all I want is a monkey.

Holy cow, this Robosapien has been up forever. I completely forgot about the Woot Off a while ago, and this thing still has a little bit left to go.

radar detector is taking a long time, probably because these show up so much on regular woot days.

Ok, you've got me curious.

Every time the monkeys go up, the go like hotcakes. Maybe even slightly faster than the BOCs. And people are clamoring for them. But WHY? Aren't they just stuffed monkeys? Is there some super-secret behind them, like each one is stuffed with 50% off Woot coupons or something? What am I missing?

-jason

(Yeah, I'm also sick of the woot forums during woot-offs. They're pretty much 5% useful information about the product and 95% people begging for BOCs. What a waste.)

Sure they're "just" stuffed monkeys... but they have a goofy little cap w/cape that makes them unique. I'm not one to go in for "cute" things... but there's just something about the woot monkey that makes me want one.

Depending upon the time of day, the forums during a woot-off are pretty funny. Last night someone posted a photoshopped pic of rosie o'donnell's face blended over that ragged photo of some terrorist leader that was caught (messy hair, looks like ron jeremy) It was hilarious.

No! You can stretch the arms and shoot them up to 50 feet. When you do this, the monkey "screams". (Really)

So I have only been sporadically checking since this is like a mega-Woot-off. Have I missed the monkeys or the Bands Opposing Censorship?

I used to know a link to a site that listed everything that had gone up so far on a current Woot-off but can't find it again. Anyone?

Well, technically Woot themselves list it here, but I believe that you're referring to this site. No monkeys or BOC yet.

There are a bunch of sites that list previous woots. I go here http://www.bagsofcrap.com/past-items...100-items.html

We haven't seen a BOC in a long time. I wouldn't really be surprised if we never saw another. They were basically just loss-leaders to get people coming to Woot. Now that Wootoffs get all this traffic, they don't really need to offer them again.

Not me. I was logged in and ready, but their servers barfed and I was put on a "waiting list" and then the "sorry charlie" page appeared. Oh well... hoping for a monkey next.

Haha, the shirt was a glitch. Looks like it'll be what ends the woot-off, probably right after this Butt Kicker game. Get that F5 button ready.

I got 1 BoC. I never saw the buttons for the other quantities.

I missed the BoC a few woot-offs ago because I was looking for the I want 3 button and they changed it. Every second is valuable when trying to get these.

So since I didn't see the buttons this time I assumed I didn't need to click 3.

Oh well. I got 1 coming!

If you email them they'll sometimes amend an order for 1 BOC and change it to 3, BeanDip. As it says in the blog for the item:

"If you temporarily forget your numbers and you inadvertently select less than three, you can try emailing [email protected]. Once they’re finished laughing at you, perhaps they’ll amend your order. Perhaps not. They’re unpredictable. If you’re lucky, you’ll get three pieces of crap instead of one. Whoopee. Sometimes more isn’t better."

Stick a fork in us :(

The woot off is over, and instead of offering the monkey they have a cool t-shirt, and I am proud to say I snagged one!!! ( at least I think I got one, its not showing up in my account, how long does it take for purchases to show up on your account page?) Its actually my first woot purchase.... Hurry, they still have them is stock.
