I just wanted to add that if you have a significant cashback bonus from Discover card, you could exchange it for Sharper Image gift cards ($20 for $40). I just did that and ended up paying $30 for a mini, including shipping.

The iPod Shuffle was unveiled today. http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ Looks like no price cuts.

The smallest will have 512 megabytes of storage and cost $99. A one-gigabyte version, which holds 240 songs, will sell for $149. The lowest cost iPod is the mini, which costs $249 for four gigabytes — enough to store about 1,000 songs

They probably didn't want to do price cuts as it would piss off the Christmas 2004 customers.

I'm guessing drops will happen in the next 60 days, but I could be blowing hot air.

I'm just curious...how come I just saw a banner in this forum that claims you can get a free iPod with a "click of a mouse" yet threads for free iPods are forbidden. Isn’t this kind of the same thing? I've been a member of this website for over 2 years and I definitely agree with the idea that there shouldn't be threads on this subject but aren't banners somewhat redundant? I'm not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but I thought I'd throw this question out there...

It's kind of funny to read for two reasons
1) People predicting no one would buy the Ipod mini and it would be a flop
2) Best Typo EVAR by Aphex Twin on page 1
That was well worth the click and scroll effort
