The Borgias Showtime Series On Disc
Amazon reviews mentioned that the blu-ray set had white lines on the top of the screen, so I ordered the dvd box. Same issue. Any suggestions?

Amazon has become a poor source for info about a particular release since they started combining reviews for all releases of a title in the review section. I found two reviews mentioning the white line, but neither state whether they have the DVD or Blu-ray, and they both show up whether you selected Blu-ray or DVD.

Of course, I'm having trouble locating a review of season 2 on DVD at all. However, I'm guessing the Blu-ray might not be affected.
The series is great. A bit loose with historical facts but it is entertainment not a historical documentary. The only problem was that on several of the episodes and it occurs on various disc in the set. A top "white line barred edging " is very noticable. It does not go away and last for that entire episode. It does not occur on every episode but it does it on far too many of them. If you are looking for perfect, or even great format you will be disappointed. But it episode is viewable and the boxing and disc are attractive.
I absolutely adore this series, but the season 2 disks have flaws. All but episodes 2 and 5 have white lines at the top of the screen. Season one has the same white lines on some of the menu screens, but they don't really bother me since they're just menu screens. Amazon sent a replacement set, but it has the same flaws in all of the disks too! Also beware, this is not a special boxed set of the three seasons. This is simply all three seasons shrink wrapped together. There's nothing different about them than the three sesasons that are sold sparately.

On my set every disc of S1 & S2 had the white lines on the entire disc. No lines on S3. I have returned it. I MAY buy the blu; but unsure if I'd ever watch it again; & with my luck my (intentionally) ancient firmware would have an issue with the copy guards (I've only had problems with 2 blus out of hundreds, but with my luck............... lol!)
