Shin Kamen Rider getting released on 4K UHD, BD, DVD in Japan on November 20, 2024.

English subtitles (or any other subtitles) not listed. They're also only selling 4K UHD with the LE version (27000yen + tax).

Kamen Rider Geats showed up on my doorstep today, so here's your confirmation that the set has optional English subtitles and is sourced from 1080p24 home video masters. So a very different experience from Zero-One.

For anyone who isn't aware (because I forgot!), this is the artwork for the Japanese collection, so it doesn't necessarily mean that we're getting a box set.

The original plan was for a box, but John reportedly told someone at a con a few months back that they'd be individual releases. I'm very curious to see how things shake out, especially since some of this material is on the short side.

No matter what we wind up hearing tomorrow, though, I'm excited!

Back in full-blown production. Box set should include Shin, Zo, J, and World. Not looking to get dubs, Sega CD assets, etc.; just want to get moving. Subtitled only; no dubs. Price point unknown. Should look nice; slipcase or O-ring. Transfers are done for the movies, but they have to wait for Toei to do the transfer for World. Should come out pretty fast; want to get it out by the summer.

If they do individual releases down the road, they won't include World.

First and Next will be part of a subsequent set, probably towards the end of the year.

The Media Blasters set is targeting a September release date. The LE is down to just a couple hundred copies.

Quick summary:

• The set will include the making-ofs for J and Zo.
• Won't include the Shin making-of; international rights weren't cleared for that one.
• The standard edition will include World.
• The commentaries and making-ofs will be exclusive to the limited edition, though.
• The limited edition run will be expanded.
• There will be a photo gallery.
• He's considering MediaOCD to handle the authoring, although he hasn't actually approached them about this yet.
• Still hopeful for an August or, more realistically, September release.

Time to finally retire that team kikaida DVD set I guess. Still weird to me that they haven't yet announced Kamen Rider 1 though despite having the whole thing subbed and streaming for years now.

It's unclear if Shout has physical rights. (When asked about similar things, they've said that physical and digital rights are separate, although this and Heisei Generations Forever are the only Kamen Rider stuff they're streaming without a disc release.)

The tricky thing there is that Toei just did a ridiculously gorgeous 4K remaster of the original series, but because of reverse importation concerns, we'll probably be stuck with the older, lousier masters if we ever get a Blu-ray collection.
