Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I watched Deadly Games so you don't have to. Released in 1981/'82 but filmed before Friday the 13th defined the slasher template, it's mostly a small town soap opera that every once in a while has a bloodless, fairly routine murder. But since it barely occurs to anyone that these even are murders, it just...kind of slowly limps along. Not to be confused with that other Deadly Games (y'know, the proto-Home Alone one with the murderous Santa Claus) or Death Game, which is also just now hitting Blu-ray and also stars Colleen Camp.

I ordered An American Werewolf in London 4K from Amazon and it shipped yesterday and I should have it today at some point.
Not cheap at $32.99, but this is a pretty definitive edition and it's an upgrade for me from my old Universal special edition DVD. These Arrow titles are rarely ever super discounted, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger.
I know Robocop was just released on 4K as well from Arrow. However, I got the BD from Arrow less than a year ago and it's pretty much the exact same thing except it's missing the theatrical cut. It was the regular BD edition. So I'm hesitant to double dip on this one.

If you're a fan of An American Werewolf in London and don't already have it on Arrow physical media, pick up the new 4K disc ASAP. It's an outstanding disc and you can dump any previous version you own, The new and old bonus material is here.

Haven't we gotten word from somewhere that Boxer's Omen is in Shaw Bros. volume 2? There's so much info to parse out there in the ether that I can't keep track of it anymore, but I'm pretty sure we knew that already. This more or less confirms it.

Yes, it is part of Volume 2, which will be 14 films.

So for Volume 2 of the Shawscope set, we know 6 out of the 14 titles so far:
- Boxer's Omen
- Invincible Shaolin
- Magnificent Ruffians
- Kid with the Golden Arm
- Ten Tigers of Kwantung
- My Young Auntie
This is another Day One purchase for me.
Edit - Has it been confirmed if 36th Chamber will be part of this set or will be available separately? We know that Arrow has the rights to the film. Do they have the rights to the sequels too?

Also if Arrow is thinking of adding other Shaw Horror titles to Volume 2, these were the titles that were previously released by 88 Films: Seeding of a Ghost, Black Magic 1 and 2, Bewitched, Hex, and the Oily Maniac. Seeding of a Ghost is OOP so that could be a possibility for the set.

They definitely have 36th Chamber... and it has been implied to be a part of Volume 2. But then again... it now seems they may be doing more than two volumes. I've seen it said that they will put the whole trilogy in Volume 2. The same person said they were putting The Boxer's Omen in it.

How are you going to put measures in place to avoid something that basically boils down to human error and not being thorough?

That's basically what they should have been doing. No idea how the Donnie Darko disc escaped the lab without the problem being noticed.

Now it's being reported that the US 4K disc of "12 Monkeys" has two repeated scenes around the 40-minute mark. The UK 4k disc does not have this problem.
This has been confirmed by early owners and has been reported to Arrow.

The same error is on the Arrow BD too. I guess I should have watched it as soon as I bought it.

Damn! I have a copy of 12 Monkeys coming tomorrow. How do these errors continue to slip by? Where is the quality control?
